With rioters wreaking havoc across America, there’s a mistaken belief that the violent low-life thugs are all low-life thugs.
Hard-left indoctrination is a hallmark of our institutions of higher education and the crowd in the streets over the past several days spewing hatred for America included more than one accomplished professional.
Case in point, two Brooklyn lawyers, including an Ivy League graduate, were arrested for allegedly tossing a Molotov cocktail into an empty NYPD police cruiser Saturday morning, according to the New York Daily News. The vehicle was parked outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene.

Fittingly, the incendiary device failed to ignite — guess you have to leave this kind of work to experienced liberal provocateurs.
Colinford Mattis, 32, a graduate of Princeton University and New York University law school, and Urooj Rahman, 31, a Fordham University School of Law graduate, are now up against federal charges over the incident.
More from the Daily News:
Authorities say Rahman, 31, tossed a bottle filled with gasoline through a broken window into the cruiser just before 1 am Saturday but the Molotov cocktail failed to ignite. Rahman jumped into a van driven by Mattis and they sped off, court papers allege.
The attempted torching was captured by video surveillance cameras outside the precinct stationhouse on DeKalb Ave., according to court papers.
Cops gave chase and stopped the van nearby on Willoughby St. They found the makings of another Molotov cocktail in the back seat along with a gasoline container, authorities say.
Mattis is an associate with Pryor Cashman, specializing in start-ups, and a member of Community Board 5, a New York City community board that functions as the voice of the community — he is vice chairman of the bylaws committee.
Ronald Shechtman, managing partner at Pryor Cashman, said Mattis was furloughed in April.
“As we confront critical issues around historic and ongoing racism and inequity in our society, I am saddened to see this young man allegedly involved in the worst kind of reaction to our shared outrage,” Shechtman told the firm in a statement, according to the newspaper.
“No rational human being can ever believe that hurling firebombs at police officers and vehicles is justified,” Brooklyn U.S Attorney Richard Donoghue said.
The operative word being “rational,” of course.
Police cars & streets on fire, cops attacked — and last night a Detective & Officers were hit with Molotov cocktails by would-be cop killers. As we do everything to stop NYC from burning, all we hear from elected officials is criticism. Maybe they should try it on the front line. pic.twitter.com/Spshv5Skrl

As reported by Politico, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Saturday night that the threat of violence was coming from “out of town” demonstrators, many of whom are “not from communities of color” and have a “warped ideology” that leads them to “harming working people who are police officers.”
After the arrest of the two attorneys, Hizzoner was forced to concede the obvious.
“Some come from outside the city. Some are from inside the city,” Mayor de Blasio said, according to Politico. “Some are from the neighborhoods where the protests take place, some are not. But what we do know is there is an explicit agenda of violence and it does not conform with the history of this city in which we have always honored non-violent protests.”
