Bill Maher warns libs not to lionize Fauci: I thought Mueller was smart and honorable at one time, too

Left-wing comedian Bill Maher took unexpected shots Friday at left-wing hero Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Listen:

In a rant that also contained shots at President Donald Trump, of course, Maher specifically urged his left-wing audience to not lionize Fauci.

“The vacuum in leadership isn’t Trump alone,” his rant began. “Yes, he puts the cluster in clusterf–k. And yes, he’s the worst leader the world has seen since [unaudible] stopped eating the voters.”

“But in late January, Dr. Fauci said the coronavirus was ‘a very, very low risk to the United States. It isn’t something the American people needs to worry about or be frightened about.'”

Yes, he did.

Listen:

“On January 23rd, Trump got a briefing from U.S. intelligence, and he claims they underplayed the danger then. But the New York Times points out that ‘Trump ignored a host of warnings the received around that time from high ranking officials, epidemiologists, scientists, bio-defense officials, other national security aides and the news media about the virus’s growing threat,'” Maher continued.

But if this is true, what does it say about Fauci?

“So all those people knew it was a threat by then, but Dr. Fauci was saying ‘very, very low risk?'” the host noted.

And there are more examples just like it.

“In March, Fauci told ’60 Minutes’ there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask, but there was, and he is now,” Maher continued. “That month he also said if you want to go on a cruise ship, go on a cruise ship.”

Yes, he did.

Watch:

Maher then reached his conclusion.

Look, I think Dr. Fauci is smart, honorable and sincere, but I also thought about that about Robert Mueller,” he said. “And I worry liberals are once again falling into the same trap of lionizing someone just because they’re the anti-Trump.”

But there’s actually no risk about it, as this is the left’s modus operandi. Members of the left have shown an irrational willingness to support anything and everything that’s against the president, his plans or what he believes.

When the president slammed MS-13 murderers and gang members as animals two years ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rushed to defend even them.

“We … who are attracted to the public arena or to government and public service, [believe] that we’re all God’s children, there’s a spark of divinity in every person on Earth and that we all have to recognize that as we respect the dignity and worth of every person, and as we recognize our responsibilities with that spark, that divinity within us,” she said in their defense.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer basically said the same thing:

Two years later, left-wingers are now supporting and bailing out rioters because #OrangeManBad.

Later in Maher’s broadcast, he reportedly added the following, according to Fox News.

“Even before the virus, America had a far too chronically sick population, which is one reason why we’ve lost so many now. We need to demand something better than how the entrenched medical establishment manages symptoms but cures and heals far too little.”

What he doesn’t realize is that the establishment is the establishment, regardless of where it exists,  meaning the entrenched medical establishment = the entrenched media establishment = the entrenched “deep state” establishment= the liberal establishment, etc.

And so because they all share the same mindset, it’s no surprise those with the left-wing establishment aren’t taking too kindly to Maher’s criticisms of Fauci.

Look (*Language warning):

Hear that? Now that he’s chosen to slam the establishment, he’s part of the “dark side.” Typical.
