It took a virus imported from Wuhan, China, for the Trump administration to get an upper hand on Democrats and their never-ending efforts to open the southern border to all comers, in the party’s political quest to transform the U.S., electorate.
Of the many loopholes exploited by illegal immigrants, who are frequently coached by left-wing open-border advocates actively aiding and abetting the illegal crossings into America, is the coyote-run “unaccompanied alien child” pipeline.
With tens of thousands of minors crossing the border alone — a product of the left’s coaching — an overwhelmed U.S. government unable to provide for the children are forced to release the illegal aliens to a parent or other family member in this country.
One of the few benefits seen from the coronavirus-induced lockdown is that officials are taking advantage of Title 42 public health restrictions, which allows border patrol agents to block crossings at the behest of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“The @CDCgov extended Title 42 public health restrictions at the borders until it is determined that the serious danger from #COVID19 has ceased,” tweeted Chad Wolf, the head of the Department of Homeland Security.
“This order has been one of the most critical tools @DHSgov has used to prevent the further spread of the virus and to protect the American people, DHS frontline officers, and those in their care and custody,” Wolf added.

The same media blasting President Trump for not doing enough in response to the pandemic is now blasting him for essentially sealing the southern border.
There is an AP story being circulated about a 10-year-old boy and his mother, who had reportedly spent months a camp just across from Brownsville, Texas, waiting for their immigration court dates under the administration’s “Remain in Mexico” policy.
After a decision did not go in her favor, the mother sent her young child across the Rio Grande river alone.
More from CBS Austin:
The woman expected he would be be treated the same as before, when such children were picked up by the U.S. Border Patrol and taken to Department of Health and Human Services facilities for eventual placement with a sponsor, usually a relative.
But the mother heard nothing until six days later, when her family received a call from a shelter in Honduras.
“They had thrown him out to Honduras,” she said. “We didn’t know anything.”
The CBS affiliate cited a 2008 anti-trafficking law intended to protect young migrant children from coyotes and sex traffickers, and a court settlement known as the Flores agreement, to report that minors from countries other than Canada and Mexico must have access to legal counsel and cannot be immediately deported.
These migrant children are “supposed to be released to family in the U.S. or otherwise held in the least restrictive setting possible,” the article said, adding that Customs and Border Protection began deporting the minors in late March, using the emergency prompted by COVID-19 as justification.
CBP reportedly said it processed 166 children last month as “unaccompanied” minors, which means they were to stay in the U.S., and 600 others were expelled.
Naturally, the New York Times is all over the story, reporting on how young migrants were being “swiftly” deported.
“Some young migrants have been deported within hours of setting foot on American soil,” the Times reported. “Others have been rousted from their beds in the middle of the night in U.S. government shelters and put on planes out of the country without any notification to their families.”
Joe Biden was quick to use the effort to get our chaotic immigration situation under control as political fodder, responding to the Times article.
Beholden to the party’s hard-left open border base, the presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee attacked Trump while pushing the dog-eared child separation narrative.
“Donald Trump is using a global health crisis as an excuse to deport children and continue separating families,” he tweeted. “It’s heartless and un-American. People across the political spectrum rejected these policies before, and will do so again, because they know families belong together.”
