Beto O’Rourke’s Twitter debate with fellow Texans Ted Cruz and Dan Crenshaw went as well as his failed 2018 Senate campaign against Cruz and his failed 2020 Democrat presidential bid.
O’Rourke, a former El Paso Congressman, seems to be unaware that you don’t mess with Texas.
Responding to Gov. Greg Abbott’s “safe, smart, and strong” phased reopening plan amidst the flattening COVID-19 outbreak, O’Rourke (or whoever is running his Twitter feed) thought he was really clever when he fired back that the initiative instead was “dangerous, dumb, and weak.”
Sen. Cruz jumped in and asked O’Rourke the following: “Is this the new Dem slogan?”
Wealthy liberals like O’Rourke apparently want everyone staying home indefinitely and becoming more dependent on government handouts rather than working.
Democrats generally prefer shelter-at-home orders to remain in effect at least until November to continue to ruin the Trump economy plus enabling them an excuse to implement their vote-fraud-by-mail scheme.
As you would expect, Trump hater O’Rourke is a big fan of voting by mail.
Apart from measures to address the coronavirus pandemic, lockdowns in an of themselves have proven to pose risks to both a public health and the economy. For various reasons such as the failure to properly care for those in nursing homes, blue states like New York under strict shelter-in-place edicts seem to have the most COVID fatalities.
Freshman GOP U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a retired Navy SEAL who lost an eye in Afghanistan, called out O’Rourke for his condescending attitude.
“What a condescending reaction. The guy who wanted to be Texas’s Senator truly believes Texans can’t make decisions for themselves and that they are ‘dumb and weak’ for living their lives and trying to feed their families.”
And yes, he’s talking to all Texans, not just our governor. Governor Abbott can’t force anyone to go back to work. Texans are choosing to do that, despite what people like Beto scream from their ivory towers.

Crenshaw also suggested that Abbott is not dragging anyone back to the office or compelling a business to reopen its doors when it believes it is not ready under the appropriate social distancing guidelines from the Abbott administration.
“And yes, he’s talking to all Texans, not just our governor. Governor Abbott can’t force anyone to go back to work. Texans are choosing to do that, despite what people like Beto scream from their ivory towers.”
Beto tried to throw shade on Crenshaw’s best-selling memoir, of which supposedly the GOP is buying large quantities (a practice that both parties often implement for memoirs of this nature) while touting Crenshaw’s Democrat opponent in the Houston-area district.
The war-hero responded that this is more of the same for limousine liberals (who are known as champagne socialists in Europe) and upped the ante with his own fundraising appeal.

Democrat Houston attorney Sima Ladjevardian is running against Crenshaw in November.
Red-state governors like Abbott along with Ron DeSantis and Brian Kemp, his Florida and Georgia counterparts, are leading the way in putting people back to work despite the fear-mongering media.
Twitter users shared similar disdain for O’Rourke’s gloom-and-doom premise.
