Stacey Abrams says illegal immigrants ‘no longer able to elect’ representation as she warns of white governance

Stacey Abrams, the failed 2018 Democratic gubernatorial candidate for the state of Georgia, is being built up in the liberal media as a possible vice presidential running mate for Joe Biden, the party’s presumptive 2020 presidential nominee.

As scary as the prospect may be that Abrams, a former state representative, could be one step away from the most powerful seat in the world, with seemingly fast-fading Joe Biden the only thing standing in the way, it gets even more worrisome when considering her views on race.

A video shared by the Republican National Committee captured Abrams expressing concern about a white voting base while lamenting that illegal immigrants “are now no longer able to elect anyone who represents them.”

In the clip, Abrams is talking about redistricting and said that if non-citizens are not counted as part of the population, you’re left with “a whiter, more Republican voting base.”

“You can eliminate anyone who is not a citizen, meaning someone who’s a resident [alien], a green card holder or undocumented,” she said. “What you’re left with then, in the United States today, is that 50% of the population under the age of 18, er sorry, under the age of 15 is communities of color.”

As for stereotyping, the Democrat equates white people to being Republican.

“If you remove them from the calculation, then what that means is that you create a whiter, and therefore more Republican voting base,” Abrams explained. “And under the constitution, if they are not counted as part of the population you are not committing discrimination if you don’t include them in the drawing of those lines.”

“Which means a school board that ‎has a predominantly Latino population in ‎Arizona, but the number of those kids are ‎undocumented or their families are, they’re now no longer able to elect anyone ‎who represents them because of the way ‎the lines are drawn,” she added.

This is not the only video of Abrams expressing concerns about white people being in positions of power.

A 2014 video of her talking about redistricting was uncovered by researcher Patrick Howley of National File.

In the clip, Abrams is speaking at a Power PAC + National Conference, titled “Race Will Win the Race: The Progressive Path to Victory,” emphasizing the critical need to eliminate the “dangerous” possibility of being governed by a “white conservative coalition.”

“We have to do this every day,” she said. “This is not an election-year issue. 2014 is critical, but 2015 is also really important, and 2016 and 2017, 2018, because my focus is on 2021.”

“My eye is on 2021. Because when we do re-districting in 2021, if we have not changed the electorate, especially in the South, we will have a majority minority population that is governed by a minority white conservative coalition,” Abrams said. “And that’s the most dangerous precedent that we can possibly set for the South in the next 20 years.”
