Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel’s answer to getting beat in the ratings by Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld is to joke about suicide.
Responding to President Donald Trump’s announcement on Monday that he’s taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure against COVID-19, Kimmel followed the mainstream media’s script that the drug is dangerous and can kill you.
“Why would he do this?” the liberal host asked. “I thought about it for a long time last night, and I’ve come to what I think is the only reasonable conclusion: He’s trying to kill himself.”

So the left has gone from “suicide is a serious subject, here is the national hotline if you’re feeling sad,” to joking about the president TRYING TO KILL HIMSELF by taking prescribed medication.
“Remember how we all said he didn’t really want to be President? He wished he was at home, at Mar-a-Lago, playing golf and finding ways to humiliate his friends? That he’s miserable in the White House?” Kimmel added. “Well, guess what? I think we were right. And I think he’s had enough.”
Kimmel then embarks on a litany of lies and distortion that is standard fare on many late-night shows, disinformation that shapes the minds of today’s generation and pop culture in general.
“I think he’s worried he might get re-elected president despite the fact that he’s done everything possible to make sure no one would ever want to vote for him again,” he said.
“He colluded with Russia. He extorted Ukraine. He declared his love for Kim Jong Un. He made fun of John McCain. He threw paper towels at Puerto Ricans. He paid off a porn star,” Kimmel droned on. “In the middle of a pandemic, he wants to reopen the mall. The man stared directly into an eclipse. And none of it worked, he’s still popular and still trapped in that White House. And there’s only one way out now. A big glass of bleach with a hydro and z-pack chaser.”
Kimmel called Trump’s Twitter feed the “world’s longest suicide note,” and totally disrespected the president’s sons, Don Jr. and Eric, as being among the reasons that Trump may want to end his life — this from the man who cried on air talking about his newborn son requiring emergency open-heart surgery.
“I’m amazed he’s made it this long. Donald Trump could be the first president who ever tried to assassinate himself,” Kimmel declared.
Remember how after Barack Obama was elected president, the media declared any reference to death or assassination was absolutely verboten?
For what it’s worth, Kimmel’s struggling show appears on ABC.
With the media panning hydroxychloroquine, a survey of more than 6,200 doctors in 30 countries conducted by the global health care polling company Sermo, found that 37% of those treating patients with the coronavirus rated the anti-malarial drug as the “most effective therapy,” according to the Daily Wire.
Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel also defended President Trump’s use of the drug, citing a top rheumatologist to say that “in the lab, it shows anti-viral activity against COVID-19, and it prevents uptake in the cells and it also decreases the inflammation that we’re seeing with this virus.”
Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, medical director of CityMD, appeared on Fox News to say she thinks Trump taking hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure is “very smart to do.”
