Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued Friday that House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff should resign over the “elaborate and intentional” Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory that was staged by him and other Democrats from 2017 up until the conclusion of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
He noted that Schiff and his allies knew from day one that the collusion narrative was bunk and that there was no evidence that President Donald Trump ever colluded with Russian operatives to affect the 2016 election.
As evidence, he pointed to the latest bombshell findings.
“On Thursday the House Intelligence Committee … finally released 57 transcripts of testimony delivered to the committee behind closed doors during the Russia investigation,” he said on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“What do the transcripts reveal? We’re not going to ask you to trust us on this one, it’s too important. Instead, we’re going to quote from the transcripts directly.”
He then quoted a slew of Obama-era officials — former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch — all admitting to having no evidence proving collusion.

Schiff, who at the time served as the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking member, had heard all of this for himself.
He’d also heard it for himself when CrowdStrike Services and CSO president Shawn Henry admitted in a closed-door December 2017 hearing that he only had “circumstantial evidence” that Russian operatives were responsible for the notorious DNC server hack.
“Adam Schiff heard those words directly, he heard them from the one person who would know for certain,” Carlson continued. “Schiff knew there was nothing substantial at the core of the Russian collusion story.”
“At the very center, it was hollow, it was a sham. But Schiff never suggested this in public. Instead, he did the opposite. He spent years on television telling you it was totally real, shut up.”

“Every single time was a lie,” the FNC host continued. “If you were following this closely at the time, you might have suspected this. Schiff never produced any of this so-called evidence. He just asserted its existence.”
“After a while, we noticed. We confronted Schiff about it when he came on this show. He never answered our question. Instead, he accused us of treason.”
Yes, he did.
“You’re carrying water for the Kremlin. … You’re going to have to move your show to Russian television,” were among the nasty remarks he uttered when hit with fact-checks from Carlson in a December 2016 appearance on Fox News.
In fairness to him, the discussion occurred a year before the Intelligence Committee hearings cited earlier by Carlson. But in fairness to Carlson, Schiff spent the whole discussion trotting out since-debunked Russian collusion accusations.
“Adam Schiff is a sociopath,” the host continued. “He will do or say anything to achieve power. He is unfit to hold office. He should resign. And not just Adam Schiff. The entire apparatus of official Washington has been exposed by these transcripts, as well as by the documents just released in the Michael Flynn case.”

That being said, Republicans shoulder some of the blame as well, Carlson noted.
“At the time, Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and every single committee,” he said. “They had the power to expose this hoax and to shut it down. But they did not. We can only speculate why. Maybe they were too cowardly to tell the truth. Or maybe, deep down, a lot of them agreed with the aims of all of this.”
Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz wound up making the exact same point while speaking an hour later with fellow Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Unfortunately, when [Devin] Nunes, [Mark] Meadows, [Jim] Jordan and I wanted subpoena power, it was [then-House Speaker] Paul Ryan and [Oversight Committee chair] Trey Gowdy who wouldn’t give us that power,” he said.
“Democrats sent out hundreds of subpoenas when we had control and could have run this to ground in 2017. We didn’t send out a single subpoena. Not one. And that’s a failure of our Republican leadership.”
Carlson would likely agree.
“Either way, it’ll be very interesting to hear Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina and so many other useless Senate Republicans – the total phonies who tell you they’re representing you but don’t – explain why they didn’t really do anything to stop the derailment of America while it was in progress,” he concluded.
