Key coronavirus scientist resigns after confessing to breaking his own distancing rule with his mistress

A British scientist whose false coronavirus predictions and recommendations formed the basis for the economically devastating lockdowns that have been implemented worldwide has been shown to be a hypocrite and liar — one who brazenly ignored the lockdown rules of his own community to spend time with his paramour.

Professor Neil Ferguson, 51, had his married mistress over at his house just after he had spent [almost] two weeks in quarantine after testing positive for the coronavirus,” National Review reported Tuesday, citing an exclusive report from The Daily Telegraph.

Antonia Staats, 38, lives with her husband and children in another part of London and is reportedly in an open marriage. Her two visits to Ferguson’s residence occurred in late March and early April, the second even after she had confided to friends that she suspected her husband had symptoms of coronavirus.”

This despite U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson having decreed, based on Ferguson’s advice, that British residents could not visit other residents at their homes.

“You should not be meeting friends. If your friends ask you to meet, you should say ‘No.’ You should not be meeting family members who do not live in your home,” Johnson announced in late March.

After being exposed this week, Ferguson submitted his resignation to SAGE, the British government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies. He also issued a public apology brimming with excuses.

“I accept I made an error of judgment and took the wrong course of action. I have therefore stepped back from my involvement in SAGE,” he said.

“I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus, and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms. I deeply regret any undermining of the clear messages around the continued need for social distancing to control this devastating epidemic. The Government guidance is unequivocal, and is there to protect all of us.”

His hypocrisy has not been well received, particularly because of the influence he had in turning even the most democratic countries into authoritarian states.

It was the models by Ferguson and his underlings at Imperial College that falsely predicted that at least two million Americans would die of the coronavirus.

“This is an incredibly important scientist. … He is probably the most important person in driving governments to implement these lockdowns,” former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson noted during an appearance late Tuesday on Fox News.

“There was a New York Times story on March 17th that highlighted Imperial College and mentioned him by name as having the ear of the British government and Boris Johnson. Just today … The Guardian again referred to how important he was.”

Correct.

Here’s what The Guardian reported: “Prof Neil Ferguson is the academic whose modelling evidence has been central to not just Boris Johnson’s coronavirus strategy, but for those strategies in France, Germany and the US too.”

He’s also the same academic who, after encouraging nations across the world to oppress their own people with draconian lockdown measures, went ahead and violated these same measures so he could spend time with his married mistress. And he did so despite a full 14 days not having passed yet since he began displaying coronavirus symptoms.

“He said on March 18th, he tweeted that he had symptoms of the coronavirus, and he met this woman on March 30th. That is not outside the two-week limit; it’s within the limit,” Berenson said.

His Twitter feed also contains a recent post of an article calling for people in lockdown to display more patience — patience that he himself clearly chose to not practice:

Responding to what Berenson had said, Fox News host Tucker Carlson urged viewers to think about what Ferguson’s hypocrisy really means.

“At its root, it’s a real person making these decisions, and I wonder what does it tell you about what Neil Ferguson actually thinks?” he said. “He not only violated the quarantines he espoused, but he exposed other people to the virus. What does that tell you?”

Listen to his discussion with Berenson below, via FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight“:

The argument could be made that Ferguson’s glaring hypocrisy tells you that he’s a man who’s full of bullschiff.

And if he’s a man full of bullschiff, then it’s equally likely that his proposals and recommendations for governments across the world to behave like jackbooted thugs are just as full of schiff, as noted by social media critics.
