The White House canceled Saturday’s coronavirus press briefing and the status of future news conferences is in doubt after President Trump subsequently tweeted: “What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately.”
“Not worth the time and effort!” he added.
What is the purpose of having White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately. They get record ratings, & the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!

The president has had to spend an inordinate amount of time doing battle with hostile reporters and correcting completely misleading, inaccurate, biased news reports intended to chip away at his election-year popular support.
On Saturday, Trump took his arguments directly to the people via Twitter, bypassing the “Lamestream Media.”
In the morning, he began the day countering the left’s argument that a shortage of ventilators was killing coronavirus patients. He promised to answer Ethiopia’s call for help and to send ventilators, then followed that by writing: “It is a wonderful feeling to know that our States are loaded up with Ventilators, many brand new and high quality just off of our production lines, and that we are now in a position to help other countries that so desperately need them. Every person needing a Ventilator got one!”

Moving on to the COVID-19 testing issue, Trump pointed out that, although the press continues to blame him for a lack of virus testing capacity, the U.S. has tested “more [people] than all major countries combined!”
We have now Tested more than 5 Million People. That is more than any other country in the World, and even more than all major countries combined!

His Saturday series of tweets, aimed at setting the record straight, continued as Trump took on an enduring Democrat canard claiming he had called the coronavirus a hoax.
The Do Nothing Democrats are spending much of their money on Fake Ads. I never said that the CoronaVirus is a “Hoax”, I said that the Democrats, and the way they lied about it, are a Hoax. Also, it did start with “one person from China”, and then grew, & will be a “Miracle” end!

From there, Trump addressed the dishonest claim in the press that he had supported Georgia Gov. Kemp’s decision to reopen businesses in his state.
If the Wall Street Journal “Editorial” writers had called, as they should have, they would have easily found that I was “NOT happy with the Georgia Governor on Tuesday night.” You said the opposite, and got it wrong as you often do!

Hours later, the president returned to the bully keyboard to attack more falsehoods spread in the news media coming out of his coronavirus briefings.
Was just informed that the Fake News from the Thursday White House Press Conference had me speaking & asking questions of Dr. Deborah Birx. Wrong, I was speaking to our Laboratory expert, not Deborah, about sunlight etc. & the CoronaVirus. The Lamestream Media is corrupt & sick!

At that point in the day, Trump issued the tweet included at the beginning of this article in which he bemoaned the futility of conducting news conferences for a dishonest, hostile press.
He later added:
I never said the pandemic was a Hoax! Who would say such a thing? I said that the Do Nothing Democrats, together with their Mainstream Media partners, are the Hoax. They have been called out & embarrassed on this, even admitting they were wrong, but continue to spread the lie!

Trump supporters will certainly continue to stand behind the president in his ongoing battles with the liberal news media. With or without the contentious press briefings, the president can be counted on to continue to take his arguments directly to the people via social media–grassroots-powered communication channels that are fast undermining and destroying the long-term viability of partisan, legacy media empires.

The fake news media is nothing but disrespectful to president Trump. There is absolutely no reason he should reward them by answering their shameful questions.
