In response to celebrities worldwide posting self-adulating videos amid the coronavirus pandemic, one team of normal people has finally chosen to respond.

Led by Australian comedian Greta Lee Jackson, the team uploaded their own extremely sarcastic parody video this week to pay homage to said celebrities.

And well, the video was savage.

Over the course of about two minutes, a bevy of normies mocked the world’s narcissistic celebrities for being so predictably self-centered and obnoxious amid this crisis. Because the video was filmed by Australians, however, their targets were mostly Australian as well.

“Hi, I’m Greta Lee Jackson, and I’m not a celebrity, but these people are,” Jackson sarcastically said as the video above began and she pointed to an obnoxious Australian celebrity.

“And during this time of crisis, they’ve provided the strength that we’ve all needed to get through. So it’s time for us normal people to say thank you.”

The normal people then told their stories. They were all everyday Australians who, unlike the spoiled celebrities here and abroad, have actually been making real sacrifices and suffering real consequences during this pandemic.

Normal Person 1: “I see a number of deaths every day, and the constant threat of being infected and taking that home to my family is terrifying, but the one thing that gives me strength to get to my job every day is watching Ellen [DeGeneres] broadcast from her mansion.”

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, an American, triggered massive backlash earlier this month when she compared being quarantined in her mansion to “being in jail.”

She’s now facing another round of backlash over reports her producers have been mistreating and screwing over the show’s regular crew members.

Normal Person 2: “I’ve been waiting on hold for Centrelink for days now, I’ve lost my job, I’ve got no money, I’ve lost everything, but this video of Amanda Keller dancing around in her massive kitchen is really getting me through.”

Amanda Keller is a “Dancing with the Stars” co-host who apparently filmed herself dancing in her massive kitchen to express solidarity with the rest of the world.

Normal Person 3: “I have been working for 48 hours straight, and my face hurts from wearing a mask for so long, and I was going to go lick a patient to end it all, but Manu from ‘Masterchef’ reminded me of why I’m here.”

Manu Feildel is a former “MasterChef Australia” judge who’s been posting videos such as this amid the coronavirus pandemic:

Normal Person 4: “I just had to break up a fight in aisle three, and every day people call me a f—ing c—, but having having Samantha Armytage reassure me from her sprawling rural property really makes it all worthwhile.”

Samantha Armytage is one of several of Australia’s Channel Seven stars who put together a widely panned promo sharing words of encouragement from their respective homes. People were reportedly unimpressed by the video and described it as condescending.

“We’re all in this together, they say. With their jobs, and their five-bedroom houses, and their uninterrupted supply of disposable income,” one critic reportedly wrote.

“It would make me feel better if the celebs were actually donating money to organisations and people in need instead of sitting on their wealth and saying, ‘We’re here for you,'” another added.

Normal Person 5: “My landlord refused to give me a decrease in rent, so I’m out on the streets. But, you know, this bloke on the beach makes me feel better. I don’t know who he is, but you know, if I knew him, my life would be really good.”

The “bloke” he referenced was “Packed to the Rafters” star Erik Thomson, who along with his co-stars filmed a “fun” video recently of themselves enjoying the quarantine in their ridiculously upscale properties (and beaches, apparently).

Normal Person 6: “My mum died. But look, it’s Alf from ‘Home and Away.’ Thanks, celebrities.”

“Home and Away’ is an Australian television soap opera starring Ray Meagher as the character Alfred James “Alf” Stewart.

Jackson’s video eventually concluded with all the normal people reiterating their thanks to celebrities.

While the video was great, it missed one especially important group of celebrities — namely, the stunningly privileged, wealthy and out-of-touch American celebrities who sought to “lighten the mood” last month as the world burned by serenading America with a communist tune that calls for a world with no borders.

That tune is “Imagine,” a ditty written by deceased rock legend John Lennon that he himself once admitted was a virtual rendition of the “Communist Manifesto.”

Now watch the rendition below:

Thanks, celebrities …
