The deep state’s alleged attempt to depose a duly elected president, colloquially known as “Spygate,” may go down as the greatest political scandal in American history.
One of the most notorious names involved in the alleged coup attempt is former CIA director John Brennan.
A serial truth bender, as has been well-documented, it’s been suggested that Brennan was actually the Spygate “ringleader,” devising the plan on behalf of then-President Barack Obama, and ensuring that it played out after he and Obama left the White House as President-elect Donald Trump was being sworn in.
Now, one of the agency’s former top spies is blasting Brennan’s toxic partisan ‘leadership,’ calling him an “unpatriotic” disgrace to the nation he was supposed to serve, not subvert.
“One of the things that bothers me the most is when someone kind of starts with their answer, and then they try to twist the facts to fit it,” former CIA Moscow station Chief Daniel Hoffman told Just The News. “I saw Brennan do that when I served under him in the CIA. And I saw him do it when he was, you know, a contributor at MSNBC accusing the president of treason with nothing whatsoever to back it up.”
Hoffman noted further that Brennan’s actions in relation to the phony ‘Trump-Russia collusion’ narrative were little changed from what he saw during his time serving under the former director.
“There were policies he supported, whether it was the policy in Syria or Iran. And when you told him something that would force him to challenge his assumptions, his response was just to get mad at you and not really want to hear what you have to say,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman went on to describe Brennan’s public behavior after leaving his directorship as an “extraordinary dereliction of duty.”
And maybe even treason, but that remains to be seen, once Attorney General William Barr’s handpicked ‘Spygate’ prosecutor, John Durham, finishes his investigation.
Speaking of which, Hoffman accused Brennan of purposefully misleading the American public as well as Congress by pushing the unsubstantiated garbage that Trump was and remains a Russian stooge — a conclusion that even fellow partisan special counsel Robert Mueller and his Democrat-donor lawyers couldn’t prove.
“If he had concerns about President Trump, then go tell, you know, Bob Mueller about it. But you don’t need to speak up publicly about stuff that isn’t even true on MSNBC,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman also took issue with Brennan’s pushing of a fake narrative to TV viewers who would be inclined to believe him because of his former post as head of the country’s premier spy agency.
“I think viewers would have assumed that because Brennan was director of the CIA, he would know something that they don’t and they probably believed him,” Hoffman said, according to Just The News. “I don’t even know why he’s still given the opportunity to be on air, after all of that.”
“I just find his behavior to be abysmal, unpatriotic in retirement. I just, I think he’s done a real disservice to the national dialogue on national security but on Russia in particular, and if you’re concerned about partisanship, he’s just made it worse,” Hoffman continued.
Earlier this month, reports noted that Durham’s probe was beginning to focus on Brennan, and in particular “any undue influence he may have had during 2017’s intelligence community assessment of Russian interference,” the Washington Examiner noted.
The site added:
Officials said Durham has been interviewing CIA officials this year, zeroing in on those at the National Intelligence Council, a center within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence which oversaw the collaboration between the CIA, FBI, and National Security Agency in putting together the 2017 assessment, and looking at how the work product was finalized.
The 2017 assessment concluded with “high confidence” that Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016” and Russia worked to “undermine public faith” in U.S. democracy, “denigrate” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and “harm her electability and potential presidency,” and “developed a clear preference” for Trump. The NSA diverged on one aspect, expressing only “moderate confidence” that Putin actively tried to help Trump win and Clinton lose.
Durham is also looking at Brennan’s ties to ex-spy Christopher Steele’s dossier, which was key to the FBI obtaining warrants to spy on a member of Trump’s 2016 campaign. In particular, Durham is reportedly interested in whether Brennan misled anyone about the dossier’s use.
