Imagine if Joe Biden was president in the time of coronavirus

Two days ago, waiting for a conference call to begin, a conservative friend on the phone line said, “Can you imagine the mess we’d be in with this coronavirus, if Joe Biden was President”? A liberal friend of ours, also on the line, responded, “Well, if Joe was President, he has sense enough to know when he’s in over his head, to rely on his close advisers”.

What’s wrong with this picture?

For starters, it’s an alarming prospect that the electorate would actually choose a man for President who is not equipped to handle the complicated, deeper-than-deep problems a President must face. Biden has provided mounds of evidence on TV and speeches that he can no longer handle complex tasks requiring deep thinking.

Biden’s forgetfulness, amnesia and his mistakes about when events happened have become legendary, all of which reveals he is an aging candidate who is not fit to deal with complex, large-sale decisions. Here’s a guy who said just a few months ago, “China is not a threat” and “China… (is) not a competition for us”. Oh yeah, America really needs a president who believes China is not a serious enemy or a competitor, and then asks “for your vote for U.S. Senate”. And this mentally declining man has been increasingly prone to spout disinformation on gun control; Exhibit A is his statement that “150 million people have been killed since 2007” by guns.

While it’s sad to watch, Biden is the past, a creature of the Washington swamp since 1973, no accomplishments in 47 years. As BizPac Review president Jack Furnari has written, “Biden shouldn’t be running for President, he needs to be living in a managed care facility”.

It’s not only the seriousness of Biden’s mental gaffes that are troubling, the man lies. He lied when he said that Trump made “no effort” to send U.S. medical experts into China early this year. Biden falsely claimed he had opposed the Iraq War but, in fact, he supported the invasion of Iraq. He continually misquotes Trump. And remember, Biden’s 1988 campaign for President crashed and burned because he engaged in plagiarism and embellished his academic record.

The second alarming notion is that if major, profound coronavirus decisions were to be made behind the scenes by President Biden’s advisers, who are these people he would have selected? What if they are merely political cronies? What kind of experience might these Biden advisers have, who were not vetted by the electorate?

We saw the trouble and dangers Barack Obama thrusted this nation into by selecting/appointing the likes of Eric Holder (remember Operation Fast & Furious, the botched gun sting?), Lois Lerner and the IRS scandal targeting conservative groups, Loretta Lynch and the “tarmac meeting”, the squandering of taxpayer dollars by Martha Johnson, John Kerry and Biden using their positions to enrich family members. Why should the country expect anything different from Obama’s Vice President if he becomes President? Biden learned at the knee of the Master.

Back to the issue of the horrific mess Joe Biden would have made out of the coronavirus pandemic if he was President: We can start with how the Obama administration needed to apologize publicly for Biden’s “irresponsible remarks (that) caused panic during the swine flu outbreak in 2009”.  Today, Biden’s “solution” for the coronavirus is to use the federal government’s money-printing presses to make everything “free” that’s related to public health: free testing, free sick leave paid by the government, free aid to all families hit by the virus, free “emergency” aid to state and local governments, a free first-responder system.  Joe would also add free medical supplies and health care equipment, free assistance for schools, expanded government surveillance but no border control policies.

No word yet from Joe about his plan’s timetable for how quickly his multi-trillion dollar spending splurge would plunge the United States into the sovereign equivalent of a declaration of bankruptcy.
