Trump blames Liz for Bernie’s exit, makes a play for disgruntled voters now up for grabs

Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Wednesday that he is ending his presidential bid, a move that clears the way for Joe Biden to be the Democratic nominee to run against President Donald Trump in November.

The announcement prompted a savage response from Trump, directed at an unlikely target.

“I wish I could give you better news, but I think you know the truth, and that is that we are now some 300 delegates behind Vice President Biden, and the path toward victory is virtually impossible,” Sanders said to supporters in a livestream video. “So while we are winning the ideological battle and while we are winning the support of so many young people and working people throughout the country, I have concluded that this battle for the Democratic nomination will not be successful. And so today I am announcing the suspension of my campaign.”

The president took to Twitter to lay waste to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., for the ultimate outcome — Trump also encouraged Bernie’s Army to come over to his side!

“Bernie Sanders is OUT! Thank you to Elizabeth Warren. If not for her, Bernie would have won almost every state on Super Tuesday! This ended just like the Democrats & the DNC wanted, same as the Crooked Hillary fiasco. The Bernie people should come to the Republican Party, TRADE!” he tweeted.

Looking to drive discord among the opposition, Trump questioned Sanders saying he plans to remain on the ballot and “continue working to assemble as many delegates as possible” at the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

On the note of who took Bernie out, Rush Limbaugh’s producer, Bo Snerdley, took to Twitter to remind progressives: “The Main Stream Media decided Bernie Sanders was too dangerous to be the nominee. Don’t blame Republicans or ‘right’ media. Your left wing media did it. Blame THEM.”

A day late and a dollar short, Warren responded to Sanders’ announcement eight minutes after Trump’s first tweet.

“Thank you @BernieSanders, for fighting so relentlessly for America’s working families during this campaign,” she tweeted. “Your fight for progressive ideas moved the conversation and charted a path for candidates and activists that will change the course of our country and party.”

Being locked in his basement and having lots of time on his hands, Biden responded in a series of tweets praising the self-avowed socialist as “a good man, a great leader, and one of the most powerful voices for change in our country.”

The candidate proceeds to appeal to Bernie Bros. in several tweets, beseeching them to join him in defeating Trump,

He tweeted: “I know Bernie well. He’s a good man, a great leader, and one of the most powerful voices for change in our country. And it’s hard to sum up his contributions to our politics in one, single tweet. So I won’t try to.”

Carefully parsing his words, Biden tiptoed around a full embrace of socialism, which will likely be used often by the Trump campaign.

He culminated with this: “Together we will defeat Donald Trump. But we will also address the climate crisis. We will make college affordable. And we will make health care available to all. We will not just rebuild this nation – we’ll transform it. And I’m asking you to join me.”

As seen on social media, there’s always a method to Trump’s seeming madness:
