Though America currently faces a global coronavirus pandemic that’s killed over 5,000 Americans, with even more expected to die in the coming weeks, it appears House Democrats have chosen to focus their efforts on investigating President Donald Trump again.
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday announced a new House select committee to oversee the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic,” CNBC confirmed Thursday.
Speaking with reporters on a conference call, she said the allegedly “bipartisan” committee will be led by House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, a Democrat.
🚨 NEWS … PELOSI is creating a HOUSE select committee on the coronavirus
Will be chaired by JIM CLYBURN.

Democrat Jim Clyburn called the coronavirus relief bill a “tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”
Now he is chairing a House Select Committee on the Coronavirus.
If you think for a second that Democrats aren’t politicizing this pandemic, you’re wrong.

She further seemed to suggest the primary focus of the committee will be to investigate how the Trump administration doles out the $2 trillion from the emergency coronavirus spending bill that was finally signed into law last week after days of Pelosi-induced delays.
“We face a deadly virus and a battered economy with millions of Americans suddenly out of work,” she reportedly said. “Congress has taken an important step in leading this crisis by passing three bills with over $2 trillion in emergency relief. We need to ensure those dollars are spent carefully and effectively.”
The announcement triggered immediate recriminations from notable conservatives such as Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who contrasted Pelosi’s announcement with just-breaking news that jobless claims have climbed to a record high of 6.6 million.
America is bleeding jobs, more falling to into despair, long-income parents and kids especially vulnerable—and Pelosi is back home complaining about the Trump response to COVID? Get back to DC and do your jobs!

Ingraham also bashed Pelosi for allowing her caucus to leave D.C. Not only did the House leave D.C. amid the coronavirus crisis, in fact, but it also did so before voting on a crucial surveillance bill.
“Senators are fuming over the House’s decision to leave Washington last week without temporarily extending key domestic surveillance laws that expired in mid-March,” Politico reported Tuesday.
“Senators say they believed the House was going to vote by Friday to extend provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which the Senate had already approved before taking on the $2 trillion coronavirus relief package. House lawmakers, however, left Washington on Friday without taking action on the Senate’s FISA provisions.”
Neither the House nor the Senate will be back in session until April 20th.
Others took Pelosi to task for what they felt was the continued politicization of the global coronavirus pandemic by the Democrat Party and its media allies.

And all Democrats care about is investigating Trump
Shameful.

In the middle of this crisis, a political witch-hunt is the LAST thing needed now. Experts were all over the place just a few weeks ago. Politicians, Democrats & Republicans, were too. @ElaineLuriaVA This does nothing to help #VA02 residents, please stand up for us to Pelosi. https://t.co/FSD2CLaSWV

Never too soon to start investigations. Not like there’s something on the table that might keep people busy for a few weeks or anything. https://t.co/F0rhFMRnWm

The latter tweet by conservative radio show host Ben Shapiro was meant sarcastically.
During the conference call Thursday, the speaker also revealed that she intends to grant the committee the same sort of widely abused subpoena powers that the House Democrats’ impeachment committees exploited during the president’s impeachment.
“It would have subpoena power, that’s for sure,” she reportedly said. “It’s no use having a committee unless you have subpoena power. … Where there’s money, there’s also frequently mischief and we want to just make sure that the funds that are put out there are done so with the conditions that we had in the legislation.”
She also reportedly addressed a proposal from House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff to form a 9/11-style commission to investigate the Trump administration’s initial handling of the coronavirus crisis, which the left claims was flawed.
Pelosi offered tacit support for the proposal but maintained that her focus is on the “here and now,” meaning that at the moment she’s only interested in examining the Trump administration’s current ongoing coronavirus efforts.
Asked about proposal from Schiff and Thompson about a 9/11 Commission-type panel to review coronavirus response, Pelosi says she supports after-action reviews, but this Select Committee is about “here and now.”

Of course, the results of these investigations — from Pelosi’s “here and now” one to Schiff’s desired commission — will likely be just as fruitless as the Democrats’ failed investigations into both the Ukraine matter and Russian collusion.
Why? Because while it’s clear their goal is and has always been to destroy the president, the “evidence” of malfeasance extends beyond his administration.
As noted by Shapiro in an additional tweet:
I promise, there’s plenty of time for investigations. And the results will look like the 9/11 Commission: catastrophic failures for years in advance.

Exactly. Despite lies and propaganda from the left, the mistakes and problems that have admittedly occurred aren’t attributable to just the Trump administration.
In fact, many of them are attributable to the red tape regulations of past administrations, as explained in the video below by renowned journalist John Stossel:
These are the actual facts. But whether or not Pelosi and Schiff are interested in the actual facts remains unclear.
