With the global coronavirus pandemic in full swing, there happens to be a lot of unnecessary fear-mongering and conspiracy theorizing occurring.
To hear some tell it, the world is experiencing a veritable “zombie apocalypse,” and a total economic and societal breakdown is nigh.
But in reality, while there’s certainly plenty of suffering, the truth is that hope and positivity and miracles still remain gloriously abundant.
Case in point: Over in Buffalo, New York, last week a group of neighbors held a “social distancing dance party.”

Commenting on the video, Turning Point USA chief creative officer Benny Johnson argued that the party is proof “that our country is going to come through this juuuuuust fine.”
Indeed. After all, the United States has braved countless wars, including one that wiped out roughly two percent of the entire population.
Moreover, hope is eternal, especially when you live in a first-world nation that boasts some of the most advanced medical technology in the world. Not to mention the most powerful military.
“A U.S. military research program that seeks a new way to boost a body’s immunity to viruses could change how governments and militaries prepare for pandemics — and might even arrive soon enough to help with the COVID-19 outbreak,” Defense One reported earlier this month.
“[T]he goal is to identify the specific monoclonal antibodies that the body naturally produces when it encounters a virus, and then trick the body into producing the one that guards against a specific illness. That could serve as a temporary, months-long shield that can protect the individual from the pathogen until a vaccine can be brought online.”
Nifty, right? And it’s just one of a myriad of solutions, including the potential cure chloroquine, that are being examined by the Trump administration.
Of course, the coronavirus crisis is a global phenomenon. But so is all the hope, optimism, positivity and FUN being expressed and/or practiced by the billions of people who inhabit this world:

Today in the UK, 8-year old Sophie was bummed because her birthday party was called-off due to the Coronavirus crisis.
When she stepped outside this morning, her entire street did this.

As legendary disco artist Gloria Gaynor recently sang, “I [or rather WE] will survive!”
“Since it was released in 1978, ‘I Will Survive’ has been the ultimate breakup anthem, empowering both men and women that despite heartbreak, they will survive. But in the chaos surrounding coronavirus, the song has taken on a different (yet perfectly fitting) purpose with the queen of disco, Gloria Gaynor herself, taking the lead,” CNN reported two weeks ago.
“With the classic chorus of her hit song, Gaynor took to TikTok to inspire others to properly wash their hands — with soap and water for at least 20 seconds — to combat the disease.”
And she did all that while singing her classic tune.

She wasn’t wrong. Nor was Johnson. The world will survive, though it may not look and feel like it for awhile.
But remember, “awhile” ain’t forever. Human ingenuity and perseverance, however, certainly are eternal — as is hope.
