When it comes to the liberal media there are a few givens, beginning with the fact that hatred for President Donald Trump guides their coverage of events. Tacit support for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, is another factor that can be counted on, as is the backing of teachers’ unions.
It is in regard to that latter that the Washington Post regales readers with the claim that “homeschooling during the coronavirus will set back a generation of children.”
Keeping in mind that if schools fail to reopen this school year, we are talking about students missing less than three months of classroom instruction.
Even worse, according to the newspaper, is that children may be taking instruction from their parents.

As the coronavirus pandemic closes schools, in some cases until September, American children this month met their new English, math, science and homeroom teachers: their iPads and their parents. Classes are going online, if they exist at all. The United States is embarking on a massive, months-long virtual-pedagogy experiment, and it is not likely to end well. Years of research shows that online schooling is ineffective — and that students suffer significant learning losses when they have a long break from school. Now they’re getting both, in a hastily arranged mess. And the kids who suffer most from the “summer slide” are the low-income students, the ones already struggling to keep up.
The WaPo story goes on to praise the “entrepreneurial spirit and creativity” public schools and teachers are rolling out to meet the challenge of schools being closed.
The piece would also prompt a response from Donald Trump Jr.
“Really, now you attack homeschooling?” the president’s eldest son tweeted. “I’d wager the average homeschooled kid in America fares better in virtually any metric that the average public/leftist indoctrination school kid. You should do a story [o]n it… but you won’t because you would never expose the racket.”

Public schools are still teaching students online. My kids are still doing school work but they aren’t being forced to sit through the indoctrination that typically occurs in the classroom setting. Another plus, they are getting their work done in half the time.
