Dem rep blows past her time with unhinged rant on House floor: ‘I rise before you…you will see darkness!’

Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., succumbed to the pressure Americans are dealing with amid the coronavirus outbreak, as she flipped out on the House floor, refusing to yield during debate over the massive $2 trillion COVID-19 relief package.

Donning pink latex gloves — because Democrats are all about political showmanship, even amid a national crisis — the long-winded Democrat had used up her time before explaining the pink gloves and decided that House rules don’t apply to her.

After Stevens tried to request additional time and the person running the floor, Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Md., moved on to recognize the next speaker, Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md.

But Stevens yelled louder and louder that she was wearing the gloves “not for personal attention.”

“I rise before you adorning these latex gloves not for personal attention, not for personal attention, but to encourage you to take this disease seriously. I rise for every American who is scared right now,” she said, screaming over fellow Democrat Hoyer, who, ironically, was trying to inform her that he would give her more time.

“The gentle lady is out of order,” Brown said, as other members in the chamber began yelling out about the complete disregard for House rules.

As she continued to scream, Brown relented and gave her another 30 seconds.

“Sharing in the profession with those who have not come before you. Similar times of trying medical needs. Wars and flus past. You will see darkness. You will be pushed,” she ranted on.” And our society needs you to stand together at this time. Our country loves you. To our doctors and our nurses, I wear these latex gloves…”

Again, the unhinged lawmaker exceeds the additional 30 seconds and continues to yell at the top of her lungs as Brown once again calls on her to yield.

And make no mistake, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was reportedly looking on, was enjoying the drama, according to media ally Manu Raju, a reporter for CNN.

He tweeted, “Speaker Nancy Pelosi was smiling and Stevens sat down next to her for a minute afterward.”

Democrat leaders had planned to pass the coronavirus relief bill by voice vote so that lawmakers wouldn’t have to travel to Washington and risk spreading the Wuhan virus, according to The Hill.

However, Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., threatened to demand a roll call vote since the likelihood of a quorum was minimal. This resulted in members being asked to travel to DC if they were “able and willing” to ensure a minimum of 216 members were on hand to establish a quorum to pass legislation, the website reported.
