Having their very livelihoods taken away from them as a result of the response to the Chinese virus COVID-19, many Americans are hurting and are looking to Washington to provide some desperately needed relief.
Relief that will help them keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. And for many, relief that will allow them to keep their small businesses from closing down forever — just as importantly, relief that will stop the U.S. economy from completely tanking.
Yet, at the hour of their greatest need, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is holding this relief hostage.
After blowing up a bipartisan effort in the Senate on Sunday, Pelosi introduced her own emergency coronavirus stimulus bill Monday, and it’s chock full of unrelated political priorities.
As Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., explained to caucus members last week on a call, the relief bill presents “a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”
President Donald Trump denounced the efforts by Democrats to exploit the crisis, as he called on Republicans to stand firm.
The president tweeted: “Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation. The Democrats want the Virus to win? They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took to the Senate floor to detail some of the liberal goodies in the spending bill, stressing that these are some of the issues Pelosi is using to hold up the coronavirus relief measure.
McConnell then names tax credits for solar and wind energy, special treatment for Big Labor and emissions standards for airliners among the provisions in Pelosi’s bill — this being just the tip of the iceberg, as the bill looks to pay off $10,000 in student debt per person, advocates for minority banks and on and on the liberal goodies go.
These are just some of the unrelated demands Senate Democrats have used to slow relief for workers and families:

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Michael McAdams may have summed events up best.
“People are dying and all Nancy Pelosi and Democrats can focus on is ripping off the American taxpayer to help pay for their liberal wish list of government handouts,” he said in a statement.
People are furious that the California Democrat would use such a critical measure for political gain.
Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino tweeted: “Nancy Pelosi isn’t a serious person. She an arsonist, not a fireman. She’s watching it all come apart to satisfy her lunatic fringe. Don’t EVER forget this.”

Actor James Woods is convinced that Democrats honestly hate America.

It’s hard to argue otherwise given the circumstances, though Pelosi and her media enablers will argue that Democrats are putting people ahead of corporations, never mind that corporations are the providers of jobs in America.
The appropriate hashtag #DemocratsWantUDead was seen online.
Confident that her media allies will run cover for her, Pelosi is willing to go to depths unheard of to take advantage of the crisis brought on by the pandemic.
Tammy Bruce responded to a video clip of the Democrat calling on President Trump “to abandon his lawsuit seeking to strike down the Affordable Care Act.”
