Calamities tend to help people realize what really matters in life. And for the folks at some sex doll manufacturers and advertisers, what appears to matter most at a time like this are dolla dolla bills, ya’ll.
And so with the pandemic raging around them, some sex doll companies and manufacturers have taken to reminding stricken Americans that the safest sex — besides abstinence, of course — is sex doll sex.
For instance:
“Self isolating doesn’t have to be the worst!” the folks at the popular sex doll company RealDoll wrote in an Instagram post posted last Thursday.
“All RealDolls are made from Platinum Grade Silicone and are naturally antibacterial and nonporous! Want one? Check the link below!”
Sure, except the coronavirus is a virus, not bacteria …
RealDoll isn’t the only sex doll company that’s “tried capitalizing on the pandemic,” according to the New York Post.
There’s also sex doll manufacturer Silicon Wives, which, instead of advertising its products, is running a giveaway for free sex dolls.
“Are you stuck inside with nothing to do for the Corona virus quarantine?” the giveaway reads. “We’re giving away free sex dolls to ease your ‘social distancing’. Winners will receive one of the two dolls pictured. Two winners will be selected on 3/23/20, fill out the form below to enter. Must reside in the USA and be 18 years or old to win.”
That’s admittedly nice of them!

Even affiliates are reportedly getting in on the action.
Real Sex Dolls Reviews, an affiliate website that earns money by directing readers to the best sex dolls for them, ran a fairly comprehensive piece late last month warning about the myths concerning the coronavirus and sex dolls.
Of concern is the fact that many sex dolls are manufactured in China. Uh oh!
“[S]ex doll industries have been greatly affected as most of these products were made and delivered from China,” the post reads. “But to break the existing perception toward China-made sex dolls, is there really a high-risk of product-to-human viral transmission?”
“One firm answer: No! There is no medical proof that upholds this claim. Sex dolls assembled or imported from China have no harm to the people.”
The piece further claims, “There is no possible way that a breathless, lungless, and lifeless sex doll could sustain the life of this virus and contribute to its propagation and dissemination. ”
But that’s not entirely true. The facts show that coronavirus lingers on surfaces, albeit not for very long.
“The coronavirus can live for three days on some surfaces, like plastic and steel, new research suggests,” The New York Times reported last week.
“Experts say the risk of consumers getting infected from touching those materials is still low. … The new study, published Tuesday in The New England Journal of Medicine, also suggests that the virus disintegrates over the course of a day on cardboard, lessening the worry among consumers that deliveries will spread the virus during this period of staying and working from home.”
The latter revelation is definitely good for sex doll aficionados.

“Owners of adult novelty stores that stock full size sex dolls are selling out of stock,” Florida radio station WRXK reported last week.
“Lonely clients seeking a silicone love partner during their coronavirus lockdown have been buying them up and with a majority of them being made in China. Since those factories are not operating at the moment it could be some time before new dolls are restocked or new parts are available.”
