‘Horrifying!’ Coronavirus mayhem sparks infuriating stories of reckless entitlement by some NYC elite

Reports out of New York City have proven, it would appear, that wealthy liberal elitists are just as bad as one would imagine — if not worse.

According to the New York Post, for instance, the overwhelmingly left-wing elitists of Manhattan have in recent days been flocking to less prosperous neighboring districts to selfishly empty out store shelves and risk spreading the coronavirus.

The Post pointed to one Manhattan woman who, despite being diagnosed with coronavirus and told to remain home, knowingly left the district — reportedly via public transportation, to boot — and then showed up at a Southampton hospital demanding to be treated.

She isn’t even the worst one.

“Someone else took a private jet to East Hampton and did not tell anybody till he landed [that he was infected],” one Southampton resident said to the Post. “That’s the most horrendous aspect. The virus is already here, and we don’t have any medical resources.”

We’re at the end of Long Island, the tip, and waves of people are bringing this s–t,” another added. “We should blow up the bridges. Don’t let them in.

Can you blame him for feeling this way?

Besides willfully spreading the coronavirus, the rich residents of Manhattan — a whopping 86 percent of whom voted for then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election — have been emptying out stores and hoarding goods that are desperately needed by less-fortunate families.

“It began one week ago. First came the social media posts, the rich showing off their fleets of SUVs — three to a family sometimes — with fresh and canned food bought in the city, announcing they were headed to their second homes out east, where they immediately ravaged every supermarket and stripped the shelves bare,” the Post noted.

“Then they hit P.C. Richard & Son in Southampton to rush-order extra freezers to hoard all that food — 700 orders last weekend alone. When one customer was asked what size freezer she wanted, she said, ‘I don’t care. It just needs to be big enough that I can hide in it.'”

“I had one customer spend $8,000,” Joe Gurrera, the owner of a Hamptons supermarket chain, said to the Post. “You know when you see someone with a full shopping cart? Now they have five.”

“[They’re buying] pretty much everything they can. Instead of asking for one or two steaks on a tray, a customer will buy the whole tray. Then they’ll move on to shrimp, and buy all the shrimp, and then they’ll buy all the salmon steaks.”

And in doing so, they leave no food for those in genuine need.

“Once they’re done demolishing the meat and fish section, they move on to the prepared foods,” the Post reported.

Prepared foods are especially vital for needy families, plenty of which live in these communities, according to the outlet: “There are actually poor people who live here. There are three trailer parks (one, of course, is already going luxury). There are food pantries for the needy, and that includes schoolkids.”

But the rich liberal elitists from Manhattan don’t seem to care, and it shows.

A big majority [of the rich] are truly disrespectful, and in my opinion don’t deserve to enjoy Montauk,” one Suffolk County resident said.

“That small act reflects a lot of what we deal with in the summer,” he added, referring to the woman who left Manhattan despite being diagnosed with coronavirus. “Selfish. Disrespectful. Absolutely horrifying.”

During the summer, rich Manhattanites flee the gloomy city to party hard among the plebeians. Except that the current global coronavirus pandemic has them fleeing months earlier than usual, and with disregard for locals:

“I’ve seen breathtaking acts of selfishness,” lifelong East Hamptonite Jason LaGarenne said to the Post. “I saw one guy walk out [of a grocery store] with a cart full of carrots. Just carrots.”

“Another cart was full of bottles of water and orange anti-microbial dish soap. If you’re a ridiculous person in general, I guess your ridiculousness is amplified by something like this.”

Ridiculousness tends to be innate to wealthy liberal elitists.

“It’s horrible,” local realtor Romaine Gordon said. “Think of all the older people who have to wait for their Social Security checks or food stamps. Then they get the courage to go, and there’s nothing to buy.”

“Every person out here doesn’t have the luxury of laying down their debit card whenever they choose. I saw old people at King Kullen shell-shocked with their empty baskets. These poor people — they’re literally risking their lives to go to the grocery store, and you go home with what? It’s really upsetting.”

But oh so typical for hypocritical, wealthy liberal elitists
