As Sunday night’s debate of white-haired Democrats got out of the blocks, CNN’s Jake Tapper gave Bernie Sanders the first nudge by asking him: “If you were president right now, what’s the most important thing you would do tonight to try to save American lives?”
The aged socialist perked up to claim that the “blabbering” president should shut up because he “is confusing the general public,” which of course means that the proletariat is incapable of insight and judgment.
“First thing we gotta do, whether or not I’m president, is to shut this president up right now,” Sanders said. “Because he’s undermining the doctors and the scientists who are trying to help the American people, it is unacceptable for him to be blabbering with un-factual information, which is confusing the general public.”

Sanders went on to appeal directly to his freeloading base with a pitch for Medicare for All.
“Second of all, what we need to do, and I’m glad he has called a state of national emergency, what we have got to do, is move aggressively to make sure that every person in this country finally understands that when they get sick with the coronavirus, that they will — that all payments will be made. They don’t have to worry about coming up with money for testing. They don’t have to worry about coming up with money for treatment,” Sanders declared. “This is an unprecedented moment in American history.”
“I obviously believe in Medicare for All. I will fight for that as president. But right now, in this emergency, I want every person in this country to understand what when you get sick, you go to the doctor. When you get sick, if you have the virus, that will be paid for. Do not worry about the cost right now. Because we’re in the middle of a national emergency.”
The debate was held in Washington, D.C., with no studio audience after the originally scheduled event was moved from Arizona due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Joe Biden, embraced free medical care for people during the crisis, but contrasted his take with Sanders’. He said that Italy has a single-payer health care system but it’s failed to protect the country from COVID-19.
“This is like a war, and in a war you do whatever is needed to be done to take care of your people,” Biden said. “Everything that you need in terms of dealing with this crisis would be free. “It is paid for by the taxpayers generally. Generally. It has nothing to do with Bernie’s Medicare for All.”
The two elderly radicals had quite a time keeping their thoughts straight throughout the evening, to include their recollections of past public health crises.
In the #DemDebate, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders:
✖️ Mixed up the coronavirus with Ebola – twice
✖️ Claimed we’ve been through the coronavirus before
✖️ Referred to the “N1H1” virus (it’s H1N1)
✖️ Forgot the name of “what happened in Africa” (Ebola)
They aren’t up for this. pic.twitter.com/28FyUQ7DMe

If there was anything to take away from the debate, it is that Biden committed to naming a woman as his vice president.
Just watched the Democratic debate.
Biden was focused, pragmatic, poised, presidential AND he committed absolutely to a woman VP.
Sanders was the opposite. Sanders wandered, made personal attacks, made excuses, wiped his nose AND refused to commit to a woman VP.
Joe’s my guy.

There were plenty of sad moments during the debate, to include Biden reminding viewers that he is a pro-abortion extremist …
Joe Biden is a pro-abortion extremist.
He wants to get rid of the Hyde Amendment and force American families to pay for abortions with their tax dollars.
He says his government-run health care plan will require it.#DemDebate pic.twitter.com/cJMZZKcOXE

Biden momentarily reverted to the pre-PC Dem days when he called illegals “aliens.”
Joe Biden forgot that you can’t say “illegal alien” in today’s Democrat Party…#DemDebate https://t.co/urX4MzudcC pic.twitter.com/06a9gIhorE

And Biden admitted that he looks forward to “taking millions of automobiles off the road.”
President Trump: “If you like automobiles, how can you vote for a Democrat who all want to get rid of cars”?
Media: That’s false!
Joe Biden: I support “taking millions of automobiles off the road.” #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/YeG6BBdnFF

One brief morsel that was worth savoring …
Bernie Sanders takes a subtle jab at Joe Biden’s capacity:

Both candidates are openly riding the “Green New Deal” crazy train …
Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are two sides of the same extreme coin.
Biden says he agrees with Sanders and supports the “New Green Deal,” a proposal introduced by socialist @AOC that would destroy millions of blue-collar American jobs.#DemDebate pic.twitter.com/In0fWbeeka

The debate was truly a regrettable showcase of what happens to people in their golden years …
Bernie Sanders imparts some sapient wisdom about the current Ebola crisis we’re facing here in America.
This contest between these two men should be taking place on a park bench at a retirement facility over ice cream cones not on a presidential debate stage. pic.twitter.com/6w9QP5kyBZ

Meanwhile, from the White House and the GOP
Apparently, President Trump endured the excruciating two+ hour debate. He commented …
I must say, that was a VERY boring debate. Biden lied when he said I want to cut Social Security and Medicare. That’s what they ALL said 4 years ago, and nothing happened, in fact, I saved Social Security and Medicare. I will not be cutting, but they will. Be careful!

On the issue of the president’s coronavirus response, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel issued a statement pointing out Trump’s obviously strong leadership and bold decisiveness in dealing with the unprecedented crisis …
POTUS is working around the clock & taking decisive, aggressive action to prioritize the health & safety of the American people.
It is because of this strong leadership that @realDonaldTrump, not whichever socialist the Democrats eventually nominate, will win in November!
