Rep. Elise Stefanik harassed while grocery shopping, ‘vile’ message from far-left filled with vicious hate

As far as the left is concerned, there is no place for due process when trying to take out President Trump, and no one knows this better than those who were tasked with defending the president against a partisan impeachment effort.

While House Democrats tapped as impeachment managers were regaled in the media, Republican members who stood up for the rule of law were cast in a far more sinister light.

Just ask Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., one of the more effective GOP lawmakers in standing up to the Democrats’ dog and pony impeachment show, drawing the ire of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., more than once.

In a tweet posted Saturday, Stefanik shared a note that was left on her car while she was shopping. It read: “Rot In Hell FASCIST PIG.”

“It is truly sad that the radical Far-Left cannot see beyond their vicious hate,” tweeted the lawmaker. “My husband and I went grocery shopping this morning before district events and enjoyed chatting with constituents throughout the store. This vile anonymous note was left on our car.”

Of course, the note would be consistent with the July 2018 decree by Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., to confront Trump officials when they were out in public.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters said. “And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

In a follow-up, Stefanik expressed respect for “passionate policy disagreements,” but said the note “is just sad hatred.” The congresswoman also said she was praying for the author and called on her Democratic opponent to publicly condemn the note.

This prompted a little back and forth, as her opponent, Tedra Cobb, responded to say she agrees, only to then take a shot at Stefanik for calling her “Taxin’ Tedra.”

“This is not a condemnation,” the Republican replied. “Here is my opponent equating ‘Taxin’ with ‘ROT IN HELL FASCIST PIG.’ One is a policy difference (you have voted numerous times to raise taxes) the other is a vicious, vile, sick attack. They are not the same and voters know it.”

But if you think there’s any compassion on the left when it comes to civil discourse, despite all the lip service you hear in the media, you’d be sorely mistaken.

Here’s just a few examples of unhinged, even deranged responses to Stefanik from Twitter:
