Trump-obsessed left heaps praise on Dixie Chicks comeback song mistaking it for the resistance. Wrong.

Obsession is more than a word; it’s a lifestyle.

And for left-wing Americans suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, their obsessive-compulsive lifestyles revolve around the man they hate most, President Donald Trump.

Case in point: On Wednesday the Dixie Chicks dropped their first new music video since their days trashing then-President George W. Bush in 2006, and since the video/song’s name is “Gaslighter,” TDS sufferers immediately assumed it was about the president.

Look:

Wrong.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, the song’s a “thinly-veiled autobiographical sing-along” that’s “one part righteous indignation and one part post-mid-life crisis emancipation.”

More specifically, it’s about Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines’ ex-husband, Adrian Pasdar, according to The Blast magazine.

“In the song, Maines sings about a person gaslighting her in a relationship. The lyrics include the line, ‘Gaslight, big timer. Repeating all of the mistakes of your father,'” the outlet reported.

“The song turned personal when Maines sang ‘We moved to California and followed your dreams. I believed the promises you made to me. Swore that night ‘till death do us part. But you lie-lie-lie-lie-lied Hollywood welcomed you with open doors. No matter what they gave you, you still wanted more.'”

Watch the video below:

Maines also sings about giving somebody money.

“You thought I wouldn’t see it if you put it in my face,” she sings. “Give you all my money, you gladly walk away. You think it’s justifiable.”

“I think it’s pretty cruel and you know you lie best when you lie to you ‘cause boy, you know exactly what you did on my boat and boy that’s exactly why you ain’t coming home. Save your tired stories for your new someone else because they’re lie lie lie lie lies.”

It just so happens that when she and Pasdar divorced last year, he demanded she pay him $16,427/month in child support and $44,076 in spousal support.

“At one point, the ‘Heroes’ star claimed poverty to the court asking that Maines to be forced to pay him $60,000 a month in support. … During the 2-year battle, Pasdar claimed Maines is extremely wealthy marking around $2 Million a year performing music. He also said she has a net worth of $50 million and property worth $4.5 million,” The Blast reported at the time.

Such facts strongly point to “Gaslighter” not being about the president. Yet according to TDS sufferers, it’s the president’s supporters who are the “non-thinking” ones.

That said, conservatives don’t appear too keen on the Dixie Chicks’ “comeback,” partly because of their ruthless attacks on former President Bush:
