If you were thinking the only thing missing from the 2020 presidential election is a Trump blimp, you can now cross that off your list.
The president’s reelection campaign has plans to launch a “Trump-Pence” blimp in a number of swing states between May and July in an effort to reach voters, according to Politico.

Citing two campaign aides familiar with the plans, the online political news outlet said the blimp will fly above sporting events and other large gatherings.
For the record, the date range includes the 2020 Democratic National Convention being held July 13-16 in Milwaukee, Wisc. — flying conditions should be optimal at this time.
Looking to have a little fun with the move, the Trump campaign is reportedly looking at the possibility of holding contests where the winners get to fly in the blimp. It’s all part of a positive, upbeat campaign that lends itself to Trump’s motto, “The best is yet to come.”
At the same time, there’s a greater purpose, as Politico noted:
The idea is partly aimed at generating voter data. The blimp invites onlookers to text the word “Fly” to a Trump 2020 mobile number and join the campaign’s list of supporters. With their contact information on file, the campaign will then be able to reach out to supporters to ask for their votes and donations. The reelection effort has spent months encouraging backers to text into the number, including through a digital advertising push.
The unconventional advertising follows the cash-rich Trump campaign announcing the opening community centers in 15 cities around the country to encroach on what Democrats have always seen as reliable support from African-American voters.
The “Black Voices for Trump Community Centers” are part of a larger “Black Voices for Trump” initiative meant to encourage “the black community to re-elect President Donald J. Trump by sharing experiences and successes of everyday Americans as a result of the Trump administration,” Fox News reported.
Trump’s growing support among black voters is sure to have Democrats lying awake at night.
Naturally, any mention of the president and a blimp calls to mind the infamous “Baby Trump” blimp designed to troll Trump by depicting a lookalike in a diaper — the 20 ft. tall balloon originated in a London pub ahead of President Trump’s visit last year.
It has since been cloned many times, appearing randomly at various events.
The negativity encapsulated in that hot air balloon paling in comparison to the online reaction to the “Trump-Pence” blimp — although, the ferocity of the left’s hatred helps explain why they cry so hard when Trump prevails.
Here’s a quick sampling of some of those responses from Twitter:
Trump is over 300+ lbs, so this blimp is obviously modeled after him…
