Bloomberg pretends he’s POTUS in Coronavirus message to air in primetime on CBS, NBC

Billionaire Democrat presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s 2020 strategy appears to involve him upstaging President Donald Trump during a possible pandemic by pretending to be the actual president.

He’s recorded a coronavirus-themed campaign ad set to air Sunday evening on CBS and NBC that’s designed to sound more like the type of public service announcement that a duly elected president might deliver.

While the ad refrains from taking any direct shots at President Donald Trump or the billionaire candidate’s Democrat competitors in the 2020 race, it does imply that America is currently facing a grave crisis for which it’s grossly unprepared (Fact-check: FALSE).

So does a statement issued by the former NYC mayor’s campaign Saturday evening.

“Tomorrow night, Mike Bloomberg will deliver a three-minute television address to the nation on the coronavirus which is threatening the population,” the campaign has said.

“In the unprecedented candidate address, Mike will outline the facts: coronavirus is spreading; the economy is plummeting, and America needs a leader with the experience to handle the crisis.”

To be clear, America already has such a leader in place

This perhaps may be why the candidate’s ad has been so poorly received on social media:

The ad itself hints that the former mayor of New York City is the ideal person to handle the coronavirus crisis.

“Good evening, I know this has been a very worrisome week for many Americans,” the ad begins with Bloomberg saying. “The Coronavirus is spreading, and the economy is taking a hit. Markets have fallen because of uncertainty.”

That’s all true, but also unavoidable.

“At times like this it is the job of the President to reassure the public that he or she is taking all the necessary steps to protect the health and well-being of every citizen,” he continues. “The public wants to know their leader is trained, informed and respected. When a problem arises, they want someone in charge who can marshal facts and expertise to confront the problem.”

“They want him or her to prepare for events like these in advance with teams of experts. Communications must be honest and transparent, so people can be confident that professionals are in charge. Trust is essential. Government’s resources must be focused and priorities clear and consistent.”

Again, all of this is already happening, and despite claims otherwise from the establishment far-left media:

Bloomberg has on the other hand not been “honest and transparent.”

A devastating fact check published by the Associated Press late last week revealed that he’s been telling brazen lies about the Trump administration’s coronavirus efforts.

During the tenth Democrat presidential primary debate early last week, for instance, he said, “There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing. And [Trump’s] defunded — he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need. This is a very serious thing.”

According to the AP, that was a lie.

The campaign ad seen below that was released last Wednesday also contains lies about the Trump administration’s efforts.

Back to his new ad …

“Presidents have vast tools at their disposal — and they must be used effectively and decisively,” Bloomberg continues. “This includes building strong, cooperative relationships with nations around the world to prevent and prepare for pandemics and other global emergencies that cross borders.”

“The Centers for Disease Control and the National Institutes of Health must be given all of the resources necessary to do their job free of political interference. Decisions must be based on data and must empower the doctors and scientists whose job it is to keep us safe.”

The ad concludes with Bloomberg recounting his experience as the former mayor of NYC and again claiming he’s the best man suited for the current job.

As of Sunday morning, the president had not yet directly responded to the ad, though he had posted some tweets mocking the veritable uselessness of Bloomberg’s consultants and advisers.


Considering the brutal response to Bloomberg’s latest ad, it seems the president has a point.
