Fedup Carville compares Democratic Party mistakes to ‘one of the truly stupid parties in the world’

When it comes to media bias, Democrats are quickly learning that if you live by the sword, you may die by the sword.

Sen. Bernie Sanders followed up on his win in New Hampshire with a big win in the western state of Nevada, and with Super Tuesday just over a week away, he is now in the driver’s seat when it comes to being the Democratic nominee to take on President Donald Trump.

It seems that Republicans are salivating over “Crazy Bernie,” as the socialist has been dubbed by Trump, being the opposing candidate in November, as a quiet panic sets in among political class Democrats like James Carville, who is blaming the media.

“We now have a front-runner” for the Democratic Party,” Carville said Saturday night during an appearance on MSNBC — an observation so dour the Republican Party was eager to share it.

The Democratic strategist who helped put Bill Clinton in the White House was part of the network’s Nevada caucus coverage, and he said the national media never “vetted” Sanders.

“It’s obvious Senator Sanders is going to do very well tonight,” Carville told anchor Brian Williams. “It’s obvious he’s the front-runner. It’s obvious these other candidates are not sufficiently talked about. It’s obvious that he’s never been vetted in the press. I’m not seeing the full-part series in The New York Times or The Washington Post or NBC News.”

Carville has previously suggested Sanders was turning the Democratic Party into an “ideological cult,” prompting the socialist candidate to call him a “political hack.”

“He is correct when he calls me a political hack,” Carville told Business Insider. “And I am correct when I call him a fanatical ideologue.”

As for Saturday’s results, he suggested it’s time for the party to employ a strategy to deny Sanders the nomination, and that certain candidates need to throw themselves on their swords to allow a more viable option to prevail.

“We’re in a whole new ball game here. And this game could end a little after mid-March,” he explained.” Some of these candidates are going to have to make really hard decisions about who stays in and who gets out.”

Less than pleased with the outcome in Nevada, Carville repeated his earlier assertion.

“I just think there’s one big, huge screaming story here tonight and that is there’s a front-runner in a 2020 Democratic presidential race,” he reiterated.

Carville is far from alone, as fellow 2020 candidate Pete Buttigieg, who finished third in Nevada, warned that Sanders “believes in an inflexible, ideological revolution that leaves out most Democrats, not to mention most Americans.”

President Trump did his part to urge Sanders on after Saturday’s win.

The president tweeted: “Looks like Crazy Bernie is doing well in the Great State of Nevada. Biden & the rest look weak, & no way Mini Mike can restart his campaign after the worst debate performance in the history of Presidential Debates. Congratulations Bernie, & don’t let them take it away from you!”

The conundrum Democrats face is that if Sanders is not the nominee, many of the raucous members of “Bernie’s Army” will likely take their ball and go home to pout.

Justice Democrats, the entity linked to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist Democrat from New York who endorsed Sanders and joined him on the stump, was not happy with a quip from Carville that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “the happiest person right now.”

The group tweeted: “James Carville is peddling dangerous conspiracy theories and spreading disinformation.”

The Washington Post reported that Russia is trying to help Sanders’ campaign, and the candidate said Friday that he had been briefed by U.S. intelligence officials about the effort.

“I do not consider Vladimir Putin a good friend,” he told reporters. “He’s an autocratic thug who is attempting to destroy democracy and crush dissent in Russia.”

The irony, of course, is that the left has been screaming for three years about Russia colluding with Trump.
