As the news swept the nation on Monday that talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh, an important voice on the right, announced he has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, there was an outpouring of prayers and support for the man who pioneered talk radio.
There was also a wave of pure unadulterated hatred from many on the left.
“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory, for me, because I’ve known this moment was coming,” Limbaugh said on air, as he talked about the “incredible bond” he has with his listeners.
“So, I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you,” he said. “It’s a struggle for me, because I had to inform my staff earlier today. I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with. The upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”
President Donald Trump was among those sending positive words of encouragement to Limbaugh.
“Many people do not know what a great guy & fantastic political talent the great Rush Limbaugh is. There is nobody like him. Looking for a speedy recovery for our friend!” the president tweeted.

Vice President Mike Pence also commented online, calling Limbaugh a “national treasure.”
“Rush Limbaugh is a National Treasure who has made a difference on the airwaves of America for 30 years. Rush, Karen and I will be joining millions across this Country in praying for your swift recovery. God Bless You!” he tweeted.

Even 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbarb, the congresswoman from Hawaii, weighed in to wish Limbaugh well.
To Rush Limbaugh: I and my family send our love and best wishes to you and your loved ones at this difficult moment in your life. May your hearts and minds be filled with and strengthened by God’s love.

But the haters were also out in force, perhaps none more despicable that comedian Nick Jack Pappas.
“I’m so sorry for lung cancer, no one deserves Rush Limbaugh,” the NBC ‘Late Night Writers Workshop’ member tweeted. “I wish him the best medical care he’s worked on denying to others.”

And make no mistake, Pappas wasn’t alone in that thought, as his tweet was “liked” by more than 13,000 people.
Even an alleged pastor got in on the hate-fest, as seen in a response to Pence’s tweet from Bishop Talbert Swan, president of the Springfield chapter of the NAACP and the head of Spring of Hope Church of God in Christ.
I take no pleasure in anyone’s sickness, but, Rush Limbaugh is a vile, hateful, white supremacist, who has spread racist vitriol on the airwaves of America for 30 years.
It’s telling that Mike Pence is celebrating this bigot as a “National Treasure.”https://t.co/nTr7TtzO8j https://t.co/sb5nEBnFrj

There were some, like “media personality” Tariq Nasheed, who actually celebrated the news, even calling Limbaugh a racist, which he’s absolutely, unequivocally not.
“Rush Limbaugh has spend decades spewing dangerous anti-Black racism. Now he has cancer… I know we shouldn’t celebrate one’s misfortunes…. but #PartyOverHere,” the tweet read.

Pure evil… with plenty of company from people like Jon Tayler, a former Sports Illustrated writer who tweeted that “it’s only fitting that this cancer upon the world should be stricken by it.”
Rush Limbaugh is, without a doubt, one of the most hateful, awful people of the last half century, and one who had one of the most negative impacts possible on this country. It’s only fitting that this cancer upon the world should be stricken by it.

Here are a few other examples of the worst society has to offer:
Ask yourself this simple question: is the world a better place or a worse
To Rush Limbaugh: I and my family send our love and best wishes to you and your loved ones at this difficult moment in your life. May your hearts and minds be filled with and strengthened by God’s love.

place with Rush Limbaugh in it?
— Reza Aslan (@rezaaslan) February 3, 2020
I wish Rush Limbaugh a safe and rapid recovery; which also includes a secret Empathy Transplant.
May his pre-existing condition, and the pre-existing conditions of all the Americans he fights to keep from being covered for pre-existing conditions, never return.
— John Fugelsang (@JohnFugelsang) February 3, 2020
Seeing a lot of people celebrating the news about Rush Limbaugh. And I just want to say good. Carry on.
— Freddie Campion (@FreddieCampion) February 3, 2020
I’m not in the least bit surprised that #RushLimbaugh has stage 4 karma… https://t.co/xXoFtvBC6X
— Kate Miller (@iamkatemiller) February 4, 2020
On the flip side, there was plenty of people willing to call out those who use a deadly disease to lash out at Limbaugh:
It should surprise nobody that Leftists wishing death on Rush Limbaugh because he’s inconvenient to their politics also champion the death of unborn babies up to the moment of birth for any reason.
When you dehumanize human life in any form, you become a ghoul.
— Liz Wheeler (@Liz_Wheeler) February 4, 2020
BREAKING:
No matter what your political preference. If you use the CANCER diagnosis of a man you disagree with politically as anything other than sympathy..
You are all that is wrong with the world!
Prayers for Rush…
To all the haters…SHAME on you!

Reading the comments on Rush Limbaugh’s cancer announcement reminds me who the cancer cells of society are.
