Looking to capitalize on the Democrats’ “somber” impeachment of President Donald Trump, Joe Biden’s campaign released a video Tuesday as the Senate trial got underway.
The ad featured Biden 2020 Rapid Response Director Andrew Bates slamming beers in a bar while spewing profanities about “what really happened in Ukraine.”
The first sign Bates may have had one too many is he claimed Trump is “terrified” to face Biden in November.
Bates lays out a timeline of events, justifying why his boss caused Viktor Shokin to be fired from his job as Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He celebrates Biden as a hero for removing the man who was investigating a Ukrainian gas company that paid his son, Hunter Biden, up to $50,000 a month to sit on its board.
(Bates fails to mention the generous stipend.)
As great a feat as Biden taking on Corn Pop, a gang leader, we are to believe. Bates stressed that in getting Shokin fired, Biden was advancing U.S. policy at the time — a “monumental” victory, he declared.
“Everyone from the EU to the IMF, Republican senators, the entire anti-corruption activist community in Ukraine, desperately wanted him fired,” Bates said. “He was being protested in the streets and Joe Biden was the person who got him out of office.”
As for President Trump’s assertion that Biden’s actions should be scrutinized, Bates said, “The clinical term for that is horsesh*t.”
He claimed the investigation of Burisma Holdings had fallen dormant more than a year earlier. Flipping the narrative on its head, Bates said removing Shokin “meant it was more likely” that the company would face scrutiny.
Bates dismissed the younger Biden’s largess by saying Burisma was already being investigated when he came on board as if this lessens the alleged corruption at play.
“If it sounds like this is all really loose, that’s because it is. It’s bullsh*t,” he said.
“Donald Trump was caught red-handed undermining our national security in trying to force a foreign country to smear the candidate he’s terrified of running against,” Bates declared.
He cited the whistleblower to say his concerns were “corroborated,” and ran a clip of the president speaking on the matter to say Trump admitted wrongdoing,
“His objective was to force Ukraine to spread a comprehensively debunked right-wing conspiracy theory about the vice president,” Bates insisted.
Proving how tone-deaf he is, Bates cited the Washington Post fact-checker, as if the newspaper has a shred of credibility when it comes to reporting on Trump
Another sign Bates slammed one beer too many was his theory on what motivated the president.
“Why is Donald Trump doing this? He can’t beat Joe Biden,” he said, without cracking a smile. “So he did something that literally no American president ever in our history, not even Richard Nixon, ever stooped to, he tried to make our national security policy an extension of his struggling re-election campaign.”
“Struggling reelection campaign.” Seriously? Is that the best the Biden campaign has?
Naturally, the Biden campaign video drew praise from the Washington Post’s alleged “conservative” columnist Jennifer Rubin.
Really well done. They might have put this out earlier.

Overall, though, the online response makes you wonder who on the campaign made the decision to open this can of worms?
Here’s a quick sampling of responses from Twitter:
It’s simple. Hunter Biden:
– was caught using cocaine;
– was discharged instead of prosecuted;
– got a high paying job he wasn’t qualified to have.These are the benefits of having a father who is a VP. #Corruption

This is a joke @AndrewBatesNC. You’re full of Schiff. Did you know Hunter lobbied his dad and others for Burisma and didn’t register with FARA? That means prison for some.
You know nothing of Ukraine. Drink less. Read more.

FLASHBACK to 2018 when Joe Biden bragged about bribing Ukraine with $1 BILLION to fire the prosecutor who was investigating his son, Hunter Biden’s company.

What kind of “rapid response” director needs a planned, professional, 4 minute 22 second video to finally address an issue that has been in the news for months, with this much verbosity and nuance?
Do better. Simplify your argument. We all need you to if we’re gonna win this.

Was Hunter banging strippers and leaving them preggo just this once or are there more Biden grandkids out there? How about in the Ukraine?

We know what really happened in Ukraine.
Hunter Biden got paid to influence US Govt policy through his father. When this corruption was investigated, Joe Biden threatened to withhold aide from Ukraine until the investigation ended.
It’s just everyday Biden corruption.
