Outspoken British conservative commentator Piers Morgan isn’t the only one seemingly out for Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
On Tuesday, word emerged that the princess’s own estranged father, Thomas Markle, may testify against her in a court case stemming from a lawsuit she and her husband, Prince Harry, filed against the Mail on Sunday tabloid newspaper late last year.
That same morning, Morgan, one of the royal couple’s most caustic critics (see the tweets below that he posted after they announced their departure from the royal family), went on a shouting tirade on “Good Morning Britain” against a racial grievance monger who’s claimed that any and all criticism of Markle is rooted in racism. More on this later.

Dovetailing back to Markle’s father …
“In October, Meghan and Harry sued the [Mail on Sunday] for publishing the contents of a letter Meghan wrote to her father following her marriage to the Duke of Sussex in May 2018,” Newsweek reported. “Meghan and Harry claimed the publication of the letter was misuse of private information, copyright infringement and a breach of the U.K.’s Data Protection Act.”
“However, the Mail on Sunday filed its defense to the high court in London Tuesday, which the BBC, Sky News and The Guardian say appears to rely on evidence from Thomas Markle. The apparent co-operation between Meghan’s father and the newspaper has led to speculation Thomas Markle could give evidence if the case reaches trial.”
The Mail argues that its publication of the letter was only fair given the “one-sided” attack she’d authorized on her own father early last year.
Last February, People magazine ran a veritable hit piece on her father after she authorized the magazine to speak with her friends about him.
“He knows how to get in touch with her. Her telephone number hasn’t changed,” one of those friends said to the magazine. “He’s never called; he’s never texted. It’s super painful, because Meg was always so dutiful.”
“I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he’s done. And at the same time, because she’s a daughter, she has a lot of sympathy for him.”
The premise was that Thomas has been a lousy father. But to contradict this premise, Markle’s father released her letter to the Mail.
“I decided to release parts of the letter because of the article from Meghan’s friends in People magazine,” he reportedly later revealed. “I have to defend myself. I only released parts of the letter because other parts were so painful. The letter didn’t seem loving to me. I found it hurtful.”
The princess’s husband, Prince Harry, has backed her attacks on not only her father but also the media as well, which he’s accused of “bullying” his wife through “relentless propaganda.”
“There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been,” he said in a statement at the time that their suit was filed last October.

The victimhood complex that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex boast has also been adopted by their supporters, it would appear, including racial grievance-mongering public speaker Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu.
She’s maintained that criticism of Markle, who’s half-black, has been rooted in racism. But when confronted over the matter Tuesday on “Good Morning Britain,” she appeared to have no legitimate examples of this mythical racism.
“Where is this racism that you keep talking about?” Morgan bluntly asked her. “Where are the ghastly tabloids which you say have been driving this racist agenda against a woman who was lorded and welcomed?”
Mos-Shogbamimu’s idea of a legitimate response was to accuse Morgan of being a “privileged” man because of his white skin complexion.
“Let me tell you what’s so offensive about this Piers, especially with you,” she said. “You are a man privileged to have power and influence, and you’re using your platform so irresponsibly to spout out this personal vendetta with nasty and vile comments knowing fully well that your words are containing bigotry, misogyny, sexism and racism, and you’re not taking responsibility for how you have contributed to the so-called royal crisis.”
“So you’re allowed to be nasty and vile!? You’re allowed to say it’s all racism!? You’re allowed to call people like me racist!?” Morgan replied.
