‘Again?’ Don Jr laughs as creepy porn lawyer Avenatti is hauled off to jail in the middle of hearing

A sure sign that Tuesday was an overall good day was evident when creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti was arrested — again.

A development that prompted Donald Trump Jr. to engage in a little schadenfreude.

Avenatti was arrested by Internal Revenue Service agents Tuesday evening in Los Angeles, during a break in a State Bar Court disciplinary hearing over allegations the controversial attorney scammed a client out of $840,000, Fox News reported.

When the hearing resumed, Avenatti was nowhere to be found. His attorneys called for a sidebar with the judge and said that their client would not be able to return due to circumstances related to a criminal matter in Orange County.

That his arrest came on the night that the dismal 2020 Democratic presidential field was holding a debate was only fitting, given that Avenatti once entertained an idea of running for president on the party ticket.

All of which proved to be too much for the president’s eldest son and namesake, who was disappointed the one-time attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels wasn’t on stage with the other candidates.

“Again???” Trump Jr. tweeted. “He would have been more entertaining on tonight’s #demdebate than these jokers. What happened? Michael Avenatti Arrested by Feds at California State Bar Hearing.”

Keep in mind that Avenatti predicted in October 2018, amid special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of the Russian collusion hoax, that Trump Jr. would be indicted and sent to prison.

Thom Mrozek, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, told Fox News that Avenatti was arrested on suspicion of violating his pre-trial release.

The picture below is as close as we get to seeing a perp walk, as Avenatti is seen in an elevator with two men identified as federal agents. Head bowed, Avenatti’s hands are behind his back as if to suggest that he’s handcuffed.

“Just moments ago ex-Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti was taken out of the California State Bar Court in LA the custody of federal agents,” Jason McGahan tweeted.

Avenatti’s legal troubles include allegations of fraud, cheating on his taxes and lying to investigators, according to Fox News. Federal prosecutors say that he embezzled funds from clients.

He is also facing a criminal trial over his alleged plot to extort $25 million from sports apparel giant Nike, and was set to travel to New York on Tuesday night to be in court.

And to think that CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza and others at the network once sang Avenatti’s praises as a potential challenger to President Trump.

Here’s a sampling of online responses to the breaking story from social media users:
