Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau fired a broadside shot in the direction of U.S. President Trump when he told a reporter, “If there were no tensions, if there was no escalation recently in the region, those Canadians would be right now home with their families.”
The Liberal Party leader sounded like he was essentially siding with Iran … the country that actually shot down Ukrainian International Flight 752 over Iran, killing 57 Canadians … in blaming the Americans for tensions in the Middle East.
The comments were made in an interview with Global television …

For days after the plane went down, the Iranian regime denied their missiles were responsible. Eventually, with clear evidence that the plane was shot down, killing all 176 people on board, the Islamist government buckled under world pressure and admitted to the “mistake.”
Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister, tweeted: “Human error at time of crisis caused by US adventurism led to disaster.”

The progressive Canadian Prime Minister’s comments echoed Iranian claims that they were not ultimately responsible for shooting down the airliner. Trudeau claimed the international community needed to “manage the tensions in the region that are brought about by US actions.”
As a clear reminder, President Trump approved a drone strike on the most dangerous terrorist in the world as he was planning imminent attacks on American embassies. Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was already known to be responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people, including hundreds of Americans when he was blown up outside of Baghdad International Airport on January 3.
The night of the Flight 752 shootdown, Iran had also fired a barrage of missiles at U.S. targets in Iraq.
In the interview, Trudeau added that the international community has been “very, very clear about needing to have a non-nuclear Iran,” apparently referencing his dismay at the U.S withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal championed by former President Obama.
Trudeau’s comments seem to express a desire for “kumbaya” in the region, which in reality is irresponsibly naive. The only way one could approach a peaceful, all-is-well sense of reality is to look the other way from the ongoing atrocities in the Middle East brought on by Iran and its proxy terror groups.
Trudeau and Trump are not chummy. In December, after Trudeau was caught on video talking with other world leaders at the NATO summit meetings, and mocking Trump behind his back, the U.S. president called Trudeau “two-faced.”
As of yet, the president has not commented on Trudeau’s comments that could be seen a personal political denunciation.
