The Royal couple has been staying in Canada at a home owned by billionaire Frank Giustra, Page Six reported Sunday. Giustra is a controversial figure closely connected with the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation and he was a onetime major shareholder in Uranium One.

The ultra-liberal Markle has thrown Britain’s Royal family into a state of relative chaos since her marriage to the red-haired prince and especially now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they are withdrawing from their place as senior royals with plans to establish a residence somewhere in North America.
The Sussexes are rumored to be close friends of Barack and Michelle Obama and the Daily Mail reported they have “turned to them for help.”
Markle is believed to want to become financially independent by mimicking the blueprint for success that the Obamas have drawn up for themselves in terms of securing lucrative book deals, collecting huge payments for speaking appearances, and creating a film production company built around using their “star power.”
The problem with that ambition of independence for Harry and Meghan is that British Royals are very limited in what they are permitted to do in terms of generating income for themselves.
“This is going to be the thorniest of all the issues because they’re not supposed to be political, they’re not supposed to have political ties,” said New York Post editor Emily Smith in her Fox News interview. “As royals, they’re not supposed to accept gifts. And also there is certain work they’re not supposed to do. They’re not supposed to work for companies, they’re not supposed to do paid appearances.
“If they want to be financially independent, they’re going to have to do some of those things,” she said.
It would seem, at least from a distance, that the apolitical shackles may be the most difficult requirement for Markle in her role as a member of the Royal Family. Before the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017, the former actress was vocal in her criticism of President Trump, calling him “misogynistic” and “divisive” in 2016.
An anonymous source told the Mail that the couple plans to live in Canada until Trump is out of office, at which point a home or business in Los Angeles would be the goal.
The Queen and the rest of the Royals had advised against the couple stepping down and are said to be disappointed and hurt by the announcement. Royal aides told the newspaper that the government “is now involved in negotiations over the couple’s future roles. Sources close to Harry and Meghan said they were ‘hopeful’ that discussions to find solutions can be concluded ‘sooner rather than later’.”
The Buckingham Palace statement released last week after Harry and Meghan posted an Instagram that made known their desire to make their own way in the world said: “Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”
