Left-wing activist David Hogg is trying to work his way back into the spotlight, but changing his look isn’t earning him the kind of recognition he was thinking about.
While most people use the beginning of a new year to make some changes in their lives, Hogg’s attempt at a “new year, new me” tweet was panned by a fair few of the 2.5K comments as of this publishing.

Nothing screams “peace and justice” like clear glasses (fake?) and a buzzcut. Oh, and a jacket that many users claim reminds them of a classic “comrade” look. Perhaps he’s trying for Communist chic?
Perhaps he’s trying to look like his friend and fellow gun control activist Emma Gonzalez? They probably wear the same size jacket.

It wasn’t long before the responses came rolling in, and most of them just weren’t kind.
looking good. you’re growing up to be such a stunning woman.

So am I and my friends and neighbors. This is the year we declare no more usurpation of natural rights by hysterical people afraid of self responsibility or the tyrannical government overlords that seek to exploit them. Let freedom ring!

One could argue that the criticism is well-deserved, especially considering some of the grammatically-incorrect, vulgar anti-second amendment comments he’s made recently.
Like seriously, fuck you if you’re a politician that thinks we should protect guns not kids.

I don’t give a shit if your Democrat or Republican this a revolting example of failed leadership that should disgust all of us as Americans. https://t.co/DCjGpDsJPb

This is the same David Hogg who claimed in 2019 that he faced “seven assassination attempts,” and that AR-15s “have an effective range of over 1,500 meters,” so he has a well-documented history of having no idea what he’s talking about.
That was made abundantly clear when he re-tweeted a statement by Andrew Weinstein, who claims that President Donald Trump had no reason to order the airstrike that took out terrorist Qasem Soleimani because “there was no imminent threat.”
There was no imminent threat.
We are being lied to.
Again.

When you hang out with famous leftist loudmouths like Michael Moore, it’s impossible to not have some of that hate (especially for Trump) rub off on you.
BizPac Review reported in 2018 that the duo of Hogg and Moore went to Canada to promote American causes.
“I have a question for you guys: Who’s ready to save America?” Hogg asked the mostly-Canadian audience. “Who’s ready to make America the country we say it is on paper and make it the actual country that it wants to be?”
It got worse from there.
“The most important thing to realize is the problems we face as a country, whether it be water in Flint, Michigan, or the amount of mass incarceration of people of color that can’t vote…These are people of color that have been historically discriminated against and still are to this day,” he continued. “And they had their rights taken away.”
Moore eventually realized the Hogg has no idea what he’s talking about when the young activist claimed that Canadians can donate to US politicians.
At one point, Michael Moore had to correct Hogg on-stage when young David urged Canadians to break the law by donating illegally to American politicians.
“I think Canadians can donate to political campaigns in the United States,” Hogg stammered.
Moore responded, “No they can’t.” Then Moore took the microphone away from Hogg.
So while Hogg may have changed his hair and eyewear, it looks like he hasn’t changed his penchant for making a fool of himself.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
