Long shot Democratic presidential candidate and spiritual advisor Marianne Williamson, announced Friday that she was suspending her campaign.
“I ran for president to help forge another direction for our country. I wanted to discuss things I felt needed to be discussed that otherwise were not. I feel that we have done that.”
A politics of conscience is still yet possible. And yes….love will prevail.https://t.co/BqTKQFI338

“I stayed in the race to take advantage of every possible opportunity to share our message, with caucuses and primaries now about to begin, however, we will not be able to garner enough votes in the election to elevate our conversation any more than it is now.”
“As of today, therefore, I’m suspending my campaign,” Willaimson said.
Williamson blew on to the political stage with an unconventional touch. Known as a self-help author and spiritual leader Williamson’s unique debate style was seen as both entertaining and often times refreshing by many.
“Mr. President, if you’re listening, I want you to hear me, please: You have harnessed fear for political purposes, and only love can cast that out, I’m going to harness love for political purposes. I will meet you on that field, and sir, love will win.” She declared on the debate stage in June.
While her unconventional antics often became the target of mockery, her seemingly honest approach was often appreciated, even by political foes. Williamson, a staunch critic of President Trump, was caught on hot mic defending conservatives for being more tolerant than the ‘liberal’ left.
“What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? I’m a serious lefty… I understand why people on the right call them godless…” Williamson said in confusion and surprise.
.@marwilliamson: “What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? I’m a serious lefty but they are so — I understand why people on the right called them godless — I mean, it’s like, I didn’t think the left was as mean as the right, they are.” pic.twitter.com/0iXkWPRdAW

It might say that Williamson has more enlightenment to come, and people ‘on the right’ will be here for it.
Although no one seemed surprised by the announcement of her campaign’s end, nearly everyone, from all sides of the aisle had fun with it as it made for comedy gold:

Today, out of respect for Marianne Williamson, we should all drop acid so we can spend a couple hours in what would’ve been Williamson’s America.

Finally, who will be the one to fill Williamson’s role as Dem’s flighty spiritual guru?
With Marianne Williamson dropping out, that leaves Elizabeth Warren as the last Shaman in the race.

Not likely.
