Hating President Donald Trump has become a cottage industry on the left, and with a few on the right.
The desire to hate on Trump is so consuming it prompted the liberal studio audience watching ABC’s “The View” to cheer white nationalist Richard Spencer for turning on the president.
Never mind the apparent reasoning behind his decision.
Under the guise of “good news,” co-host Joy Behar referenced Spencer saying that he regrets supporting Trump, prompting a cheer to ring out from the audience.
“You were saying what’s some good news. This is a tiny thing that I noticed,” Behar said to co-host Meghan McCain. “You remember Richard Spencer? He’s basically the organizer of Unite the Right, the white nationalist group that was marching in Charlottesville. He was all in for Trump. Not anymore.”
The announcement coming with a broad smile — in fact, she had to check herself as she began to say that this was good news, stating instead that it was “interesting.”
“Do you know why?” co-host Abby Huntsman would ask.
“It’s like I said yesterday, Trump ran on not invading and not being a warmonger,” Behar replied. “These people, they’re the ones who are going to go.”
Cohost Meghan McCain chimed in to ask if this had something to do with Trump’s support of Israel, and given that Spencer is widely seen as an antisemite, the Israel connection may have some merit.
Spencer tweeted in the aftermath of President Trump ordering the strike that killed Iran’s terrorist general Qassim Soleimani: “I deeply regret voting for and promoting Donald Trump in 2016.”

A follow-up tweet pretty much assured that the Soleimani attack was prompting his regret, which is a boon for the president.
“To the people of Iran, There are millions of Americans who do not want war, who do not hate you, and who respect your nation and its history. After our traitorous elite is brought to justice, we hope to achieve peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness,” he said.

The tweet kinda reminds you of Rose McGowan’s traitorous “Dear Iran” tweet, no?
Keep in mind that in many precincts, Soleimani, who had the blood of hundreds of Americans on his hands, was considered the most dangerous terrorist in the world.
Soleimani was behind the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on New Year’s Eve, and the Pentagon said the Iranian commander had other attacks against American interests in the works.
Adding more perspective to the man Behar is now celebrating for hating on Trump, Spencer retweeted someone else who said that Iran is “completely justified trying to develop nuclear weapons and US-range ICBMs.”
Of course, when Spencer backed President Trump, he was persona non grata on the left.
In November, while clashing with 2020 presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, for criticizing Hillary Clinton, Behar named Spencer in an effort to dismiss the candidate.
“Franklin Graham finds you refreshing. He doesn’t find me refreshing,” Behar said. “Richard Spencer, the white nationalist leader says he can vote for you. You were on “Tucker Carlson” at least ten times.”
And when CNN gave the white nationalist air time to express his displeasure with Trump for not doing more to establish white dominance in America — as ridiculous as the segment was — liberals lambasted the network for giving him a platform.
