Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley said Democrats are the only ones mourning the loss of Iranian Gen. Qassam Soleimani.
Appearing on Fox’s “Sean Hannity Show,” Haley made a very valid point in stressing the silence heard around the world in response to the U.S. airstrike that took out the Iranian commander — other than the hero’s welcome the terrorist general’s remains saw in Iran.
“I’ll tell you this, you don’t see anyone standing up for Iran. You’re not hearing any of the Gulf members, you’re not hearing China, you’re not hearing Russia,” Haley said. “The only ones that are mourning the loss of Soleimani are our Democrat leadership and our Democrat presidential candidates.”
“No one else in the world, because they knew that this man had evil [in his] veins,” Haley added. They knew what he was capable of. And they saw the destruction and the lives lost from his hands.”

As head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force, which the U.S. had declared a Foreign Terrorist Organization, Soleimani had the blood of hundreds of Americans on his hands.
Democrats responded to Soleimani’s death by attacking President Trump for getting approval from Congress and have engaged in fear-mongering over Iranian retaliation and the possible escalation of war– as if Iran wasn’t already targeting American interests.
Haley said the strike left Iran “shaking in their boots,” adding that they “did not see this coming.”
“They thought that they could continue to do their multiple strikes, but when it got to the lives of Americans, the president is never going to allow that to happen,” she said. “You could see the Ayatollah crying today, because that was his number one strategist. That was the number one guy that has literally told all of the proxies in all of these countries who to kill, when to kill, how to kill, and that guy’s now gone.”
Haley also told host Sean Hannity that the general’s death “should be celebrated.”
“You go tell that to the 608 American families who lost a loved one,” Haley said. “Go tell that to the military members who lost a limb. This was something that needed to be done and should be celebrated.”
In the face of Speaker Nancy Pelosi maneuvering to tie the president’s hands on Iran and effectively usurp his authority as commander in chief, the former South Carolina governor called on Democrats to stand with Trump in the conflict with our longtime foe.
“And I’ll tell you right now, partisan politics should stop when it comes to foreign policy,” Haley said. “This is about America united. We need to be completely behind the president, what he did, because every one of those countries is watching our news media right now and seeing what everyone is saying, and this is a moment of strength for the United States. It’s a moment of strength for President Trump.”
In a sober reflection, retired Gen. David Petraeus, a former commander of U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and a former CIA director, said the president’s action was “a very significant effort to reestablish deterrence.”
Trump ordered the airstrike after the U.S. Embassy was attacked in Baghdad, amid concerns Soelimani was “actively developing plans to attack” American interests.
There have been a series of provocative actions from Iran since last summer when two oil tankers exploded in the Persian Gulf, culminating with the recent death of a U.S. contractor at a base in Iraq and the subsequent attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
The embassy was targeted after a U.S. airstrike killed 25 fighters of an Iran-backed militia, Kata’ib Hezbollah, in retaliation for the killing of the U.S. contractor.
“It is impossible to overstate the importance of this particular action,” Petraeus said during an interview with Foreign Policy. “It is more significant than the killing of Osama bin Laden or even the death of [Islamic State leader Abu Bakr] al-Baghdadi. He is responsible for providing explosives, projectiles, and arms and other munitions that killed well over 600 American soldiers and many more of our coalition and Iraqi partners just in Iraq, as well as in many other countries such as Syria. So his death is of enormous significance.”
Despite the saber rattling, Petraeus suggested that because the Persian Gulf country Iran is “in a very precarious economic situation, it is very fragile domestically,” Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, may be limited in any potential responses.
As for Haley’s remark about Democrats being the only ones mourning, you can tell that she was on target based on the flak — see whining — she received:
Shameful, dangerous comment. We’re in trouble as a nation when an ex-Governor and UN Ambassador would say something so dishonest, Nikki Haley. I’ve rarely agreed with your politics but I’ve always before respected you as a person. It demeans everyone when politicians go low.

Some people care about safety & prosperity of American people. Other people, like @NikkiHaley & rest of Trump sycophants, care about what helps them most in their quest for money & power. Disgusting that mainstream media held her up as one of the good ones. There Are No Good Ones

Later, when Haley pretends not to have been part of the shameless lying of the Trump era, remember that she was.
