DHS chief says Hanukkah stabber was son of illegal immigrant, ‘American values did not take hold,’ in deleted tweet

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli claimed Monday that the 37-year-old reprobate who’d broken into a Hasidic rabbi’s New York home during a Hanukkah party on Saturday and stabbed five people is the son of an illegal alien.

“The attacker is the US Citizen son of an illegal alien who got amnesty under the 1986 amnesty law for illegal immigrants,” he reportedly wrote in a tweet.

But what he then appended to the tweet provoked so much outrage from the illegal alien-loving left that he promptly deleted it, according to reports.

Apparently, American values did not take hold among this entire family, at least this one violent, and apparently bigoted, son,” the tweet continued.

The suspect, Grafton Thomas, is a virulent anti-Semite, and absolutely nothing about anti-Semitism vibes with the values of the United States of America.

“While executing a search warrant at Thomas’s home in Greenwood Lake, law enforcement officials found handwritten journals that say the ‘Hebrew Israelites’ took from ‘powerful ppl (ebinoid Israelites)’ and question ‘why ppl mourned for anti-Semitism when there is Semitic genocide,'” BuzzFeed News reported Monday.

“The journals refer to Adolf Hitler and ‘Nazi culture’ along with drawings of a Star of David and a swastika. … Officials also found recent searches like ‘Why did Hitler hate the Jews,’ ‘German Jewish Temples near me,’ and ‘Prominent companies founded by Jews in America’ on the internet browser of a phone recovered from Thomas’s car.”

These sorts of anti-Semitic ideas originate with the Black Hebrew Israelites, a hate group comprised of blacks who believe they’re the true descents of the ancient Israelites. The left has a habit of ignoring any crimes committed by this group.

That Thomas is a hateful anti-Semite is not in question. Nor is there any doubt that he’s a disgraceful figure whose values run anathema to those of the nation.

What remains unproven is whether his alleged status as the son of an illegal alien played a role in him growing up to be an arguably unassimilated anti-Semitic thug.

While there appear to be no studies concerning the assimilation of illegal aliens, an analysis from the Hudson Institute back in 2013 found that, for their part, legal immigrants tend to be less patriotic than their native-born counterparts.

“[A] large ‘patriotic gap’ exists between native-born citizens and immigrant citizens on issues of patriotic attachment and civic knowledge,” the institute reported at the time. “Despite what some may believe, native-born citizens have a much higher degree of patriotic attachment to the United States than naturalized citizens.”

A “higher degree of patriotic attachment” to the U.S. may also denote a higher degree of attachment to its values, including its deep respect for the Jewish people.

Conversely, if legal immigrants lack the same degree of patriotic attachment, it may be surprised via an educated guess that illegal aliens lack it to an even higher degree.

Thus, the notion that Thomas grew up to be a virulent anti-Semite in part because of the alleged lack of patriotism in his reportedly illegal alien family seems to be a valid (though still unproven) hypothesis rooted in at some semblance of fact and logic.

The left nevertheless responded to Cuccinelli’s tweet with the same fury they direct at anyone willing to suggest that men are men and women are women.

Observe:

Cuccinelli never once suggested that the children of illegal aliens “can never be ‘true’ Americans.” He did seemingly hypothesize though that illegal immigration runs hand in hand with a lack of assimilation, and that this lack of assimilation can lead to disastrous long-term results, i.e., an unassimilated child growing up to be an anti-Semite or terrorist.

It’s just a theory. But to the left, it seems theories, hypotheses and even the scientific method itself are all racist, bigoted, you name it.

As to why Cuccinelli deleted the tweet, it’s suspected that either he felt embarrassed over the backlash or he discovered facts that countered his narrative.

To be clear, as of Tuesday morning no definitive proof had yet emerged showing Thomas to be the son of an illegal alien.

However, Thomas’s attorney, Michael Sussman, did confirm with the Daily Mail that his parents are immigrants from Guyana.

“His mother became a naturalized citizen in 1986, while his father now lives in Utah and the pair are not close,” the Daily Mail reported. “The accused man’s attorney did not address whether his father had previously been in the U.S. illegally.”
