Pro-Iran militants in Iraq have laid siege to the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad, vowing to kill everyone inside if they gain entry.
Yet, in the eyes of a liberal media, who are focused on an anti-Trump narrative, Iraqi Shiite militia supporters are shamelessly billed as “Iraqi mourners.”
A tweet from the Iraqi media outlet Rudaw featured a video of those at the embassy.

As seen in the clip, there are a number of men in military fatigues running about.
But those chanting “Death to America” are seeing much more favorable treatment in the U.S., as media outlets describe them as “mourners” upset over “deadly American airstrikes.”

There was no such confusion among Arab news sources, who reported that “militias loyal to Al-Hashd movement” were around the U.S. Embassy.

To be clear, President Trump took to Twitter to explain that the U.S. strike came in response to Iran killing an American contractor.
He also stressed that Iran was “orchestrating” the attack on the U.S. Embassy.
“Iran killed an American contractor, wounding many. We strongly responded, and always will,” he tweeted. “Now Iran is orchestrating an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. They will be held fully responsible. In addition, we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!”

The U.S. carried out airstrikes in Iraq and Syria on Sunday, the strikes coming after a defense contractor was killed in a rocket attack at a military compound, according to Fox News.
A Pentagon spokesperson told the network that U.S. military jet fighters conducted “precision defensive strikes” on five sites of Kataeb Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Iraqi militia.
