New York City Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio is eager to blame President Trump for a spate of attacks on Jews in the city, which flies in the face of the progressive policy the mayor has imposed.
A New York City woman arrested for slapping three Orthodox Jewish women in an apparent anti-Semitic attack was arrested Sunday, one day after being released from jail for the earlier attack.
Tiffany Harris, 30, who was released without bail for the attack that took place Friday in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights area, was charged Sunday with assault for punching a 35-year-old woman in the face, the New York Post reported. The attacks were about a mile apart.

It’s unclear if the woman, who suffered swelling and bruising to her right eye from the beating, is Jewish.
Police, who charged Harris with attempted assault as a hate crime in Friday’s attack, weren’t treating the second incident as a hate crime, according to the Post.
“Yes, I slapped them. I cursed them out. I said ‘F-U, Jews,’” Harris admitted to police after Friday’s incident, according to a criminal complaint.
Despite the admission and the hate crimes charge, New York City opted to release the maniac without bail.
Police received at least six reports last week of suspected anti-Semitic attacks on Jews in the city, for a total of eight since Dec. 13, Fox 5 NYT reported.
(Five people were stabbed at Hannukah party at a rabbi’s home in Monsey, which is a densely Jewish community just north of New York City.)
The response from de Blasio was to up the police presence in Crown Heights and two other Brooklyn neighborhoods with large Jewish populations — not that it matters, if the city is going to release assailants immediately after arresting them.
Yet, in an interview Sunday on Fox News, the mayor blamed hate “emanating from Washington” for anti-Semitic attacks around the country.
“An atmosphere of hate has been developing in this country over the last few years. A lot of it’s emanating from Washington and it’s having an effect on all of us,” de Blasio said.
When asked if he was blaming Trump for the attacks, the mayor said, “Not just the president — I’m saying, but we have to be clear. We need a different tone starting in Washington.”
As Fox News host Ed Henry noted in the interview, New York City gives people getting out of jail a free Metro card to ride the subways, two debit cards with $25 on each, and a burner cell phone.
And de Blasio defended this stunning give-away as “trying to get people out of crime and keep them out of crime.”
When Henry brought up Harris as a beneficiary of this liberal largess, the Democrat waved the incident off saying he doesn’t know what happened with her.
Bill de Blasio says giving people like Tiffany Harris, who slapped 3 Jewish women in the face and shouted “F–k you, Jews!,” 2 debit cards and a *burner cell phone* upon release is not “soft on crime.” If they attack more people on bail, it’s “missing the forest for the trees.” pic.twitter.com/jI0pp4XrH2

Meanwhile, Jews living in New York City are calling on Mayor de Blasio to declare a state of emergency in response to what’s beginning to look like a coordinated assault on the Jewish community.

New York City’s new bail reform law allows suspects charged with violent crimes to be quickly released.
New York State Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican, took to Twitter to ask people to call Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo in regard to the law — not that the left-wing governor is likely to intervene.
If you are a New York resident, please call Gov Cuomo at 212-681-4580 & your state legislators asking them to ensure an individual’s constitutionally protected right to a speedy trial but NOT a blanket no bail law ignoring criminal history & dangerousness. https://t.co/kJiYBkQRH6

As for blaming Trump, a poll shows that those being attacked, Orthodox Jews, trust the president and the GOP more when it comes to fighting anti-Semitism.
What WaPo chose not to tell you is that in a recent national poll 92.5% of Orthodox Jews — the very community that’s been targeted in these attacks — responded that they trust @realDonaldTrump & the GOP when it comes to fighting anti-Semitism. https://t.co/KqRFwCn8jS https://t.co/XFsfZ1HaaQ
