President Donald Trump told the left-wing legislators of both California and New York in no uncertain terms Saturday that if they want his help in ameliorating their homelessness crisis, they’ll need to cut the attitude and show some humility.
Observe:
California and New York must do something about their TREMENDOUS Homeless problems. They are setting records! If their Governors can’t handle the situation, which they should be able to do very easily, they must call and “politely” ask for help. Would be so easy with competence!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 28, 2019
Naturally, the straightforward tweet exasperated members of the perpetually angry and increasingly truth-averse left, many of whom feel the president is obligated to fix the homelessness crisis that California and York York’s Democrat legislators have themselves created and continue to exacerbate with their poorly thought-out policies.
And many who falsely believe that rampant homelessness is a nationwide epidemic or falsely deny that there’s even a problem at all.
Look:
I live in nyc. We don’t have a tremendous homeless problem. But I’m glad trump is homeless in nyc since he moved to Florida.

Having travelled this country, as you have, the homeless problem is nationwide, in all cities and beyond. (The difference between you and me — I actually look at the country and not just at MAGA crowds.) So, get to crackin’ a$$hole and help this situation!

How would you resolve the homeless situation ?? Let me guess…. cages like the immigrants children.
— Pepe Garza (@pepegarza) December 28, 2019
Do you realize homelessness is a problem throughout the entire country. Just maybe you can lead on this issue…maybe.
— Rep. Erick Allen (@erickallen) December 28, 2019
So what you’re saying, Donald, is that:
1. You could easily help homeless Americans
2. You won’t help homeless Americans unless someone asks you politely
What kind of goddamn monster are you?
— MatthewDicks (@MatthewDicks) December 28, 2019
He’s likely the “kind of goddamn monster” who’s fed up with Democrat bureaucrats like California Gov. Gavin Newsom blaming the fruits of their own garbage policies on a president who’s responsible for creating more economic growth and opportunity than’s been seen by Americans in over a decade.
He’s probably also the “kind of goddamn monster” who’s fed up with Democrats and their left-wing media allies presenting a false narrative about nationwide homelessness.
According to a report on homelessness released by the White House Council of Economic Advisers three months ago, 47 of all unsheltered homeless Americans live in California. Meanwhile, over one-fifth of all sheltered homeless Americans throughout the states live in New York City alone. FYI, these are not coincidences.
The report goes on to describe the reasons for these left-wing states and cities’ homelessness problem: left-wing policies concerning regulation, taxes, etc.
“The first factor that explains variation in homelessness across the United States is the high cost of housing in certain areas, in large part due to regulations that drive up home prices above the cost to produce a home,” the report reads.
“Overregulation of housing markets shifts the supply of homes inward, increasing home prices and homelessness. Consistent with this prediction, research consistently finds that areas with higher home prices tend to have higher rates of overall homelessness.”
Read the full report below:
Unlike Gavin, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Trump has promoted deregulation, not over-regulation.
Speaking of which, a new set of regulations drawn up by state legislator Lorena Gonzalez, also a Democrat, and signed into law by Gavin three months ago, AB5, are slated to completely wreck the state’s gig economy and drive God knows how many more Americans into homeless.
Learn more about the bill’s impact from the angry locals seen below (*Language warning):
@LorenaSGonzalez , AB5 is a disaster. My writer income has been obliterated in the last week. When I’m homeless, like so many in CA, can I and my 9 year old camp out on your lawn. It’s not a joke.

So fucking glad I don’t live in California. My friend just got FIRED and is gonna be homeless because of #AB5. Shameful what they’re doing to the marginalized and minorities.
— CreolePrincess (@CreolePrinces12) December 25, 2019
AB5 will cost lives—as well as jobs
The impact on small & rural hospitals will be devastating
It should come as no surprise that CA Democrats are blasé about their misguided policies leading to unemployment, misery or even death—given the homeless crisishttps://t.co/nKHIrwV7uE

Yes, we need your help. This new law in CA. AB5 will increase the homeless base exponentially as it will put so many out of work. Please help end AB5. It’s a Union grab, it’s unconstitutional and increases the homeless problem. https://t.co/oYHXQvbtZT

Take note of whom the last tweet above is addressed to …
It’s not Trump who signed into law AB5 and other similar bills in California and New York that have stymied their respective economies and destroyed entire industries.
Yet it’s Trump whom everybody has been turning to, including Newsom, who last week blamed the state’s self-made crisis on the president’s refusal to give him more money to waste on failing programs that haven’t actually worked.
It appears that the only real solution to California and New York’s homelessness crisis is a complete repudiation and reversal of their Democrat polices. But sadly for those slated to suffer because of these policies, that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.
