Watters not buying Trump movie snub wasn’t a petty ‘liberal edit.’ Why not take out ‘crazy pigeon lady’?!

Fox News host Jesse Watters slammed the “liberal edit” of a Canadian broadcast of “Home Alone 2,” which removed a cameo of President Donald Trump, saying that it makes Trump haters on the left look “petty.”

Home Alone 2, probably one of the most underrated sequels ever. Kevin had better booby-traps. Harry and Marv (portrayed by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) bigger roles,” Watters said Thursday on “The Five“.

“It did $175 million at the box office. It’s on Disney+,” he noted. “I just saw it with my twins, they loved the Trump cameo. One of the most interesting parts of the movie. It was a liberal edit. If you want to edit for time, take out the crazy pigeon lady in Central Park.”

All joking aside, Watters then nailed what he believes is really at play here.

“When you look at what they did, it’s re-writing history because what Trump was in the early ‘90s, he was a tycoon that was admired and embraced by American culture, by Hollywood, by the entertainment industry,” he observed. “This is a family-friendly film. Liberals can’t accept it so they want to deny it and it just makes them look petty.”

Putting things into proper perspective, Watters said, “The prime minister of Canada had blackface on around this time — they weren’t worried about that, but they’re embarrassed by Trump.”

State-run Canadian Broadcasting Corporation insisted the edit removing Trump from the Christmas film was not politically motivated, saying it was done in 2014 to trim time from the movie — overall, eight minutes was reportedly trimmed.

“The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014, when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president,” CBC spokesman Chuck Thompson said.

President Trump took to Twitter to blame Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — he did so in a seemingly joking manner, though the leaders have an often-strained relationship.

“I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!” the president tweeted Thursday.

Further evidence that he was making light of the edit was seen in another tweet: “The movie will never be the same! (just kidding).”

As was mentioned in the segment, Trump spoke of his role in the film while talking with American troops stationed overseas on Christmas Eve.

“A lot of people mention it every year, especially around Christmas,” he said. “They say — especially young kids — they say, ‘I just saw you on the movie.’ They don’t see me on television as they do in the movie. But it’s been a good movie, and I was a little younger, to put it mildly. And it was an honor to do it.”

For what it’s worth, guest host Capri Cafaro went to bat for Canada, saying that it was wrong to characterize the entire country as liberal because of the edit.

“I love Canada and I love the CBC,” she said. “I would say to assume that Canada is super liberal and the CBC by default, take a look at western Canada and prairie places like Alberta … Saskatchewan, Manitoba. They are not necessarily liberal so to blanketly say Canada is liberal is erroneous.”
