Social justice warriors in the United Kingdom are turning the once-great and powerful empire into an absolute mockery. There is no better example of this bizarre need to be coddled by the government than their take on knives.
In August 2019, takeaway chicken shops (think KFC) helped the government spread awareness about the dangers of teens carrying knives with special “#knifefree” carry-out boxes. The campaign created 320,000 of these boxes, which featured the hashtag as well as stories from people who have “escaped knife crime.” Eateries Morley’s, Chicken Cottage, and Dixy Chicken were involved in the efforts.

Policing minister Kit Malthouse claimed that he believed the boxes would really “bring home” the severity of knife crime, explaining that teens will truly understand the “tragic consequences” of the bladed objects. He also says that the campaign should “challenge the idea that it makes you safer” to carry a weapon.
“The government is doing everything it can to tackle the senseless violence that is traumatizing communities and claiming too many young lives, including bolstering the police’s ranks with 20,000 new police officers on our streets,” he added.
Morley’s managing director Shan Selvendran claimed his store wants “to promote being knife free by using custom chicken boxes to deliver the message and start conversations amongst all of our customers.” Because that’s what people who are ordering takeout chicken want to do, “start conversations” about knives.
Of course, the effort was not without worthy ridicule, with shadow home secretary Diane Abbott calling it a “crude, offensive and probably expensive campaign.”

Hi I’m Rid and I’m a knifeaholic. I guess I’ve been using knives since I was quite young. Slicing bread, spreading butter, even cutting steak sometimes. I never realised how much I was hurting my friends, my family, myself, every time I made a sandwich.

Some users even implied that race may have played a role in the decision to target consumers of fried chicken.
Kinda sounds like you’re saying you think there’s a demographic overlap between knife crime and fried chicken

Nothing says “we care about the health and well-being of our country” like lecturing people on knife crime while encouraging the consumption of heart-attack-inducing fried chicken!
