President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday to bash House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her cohort in the U.S. Senate, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Employing the nicknames “Crazy Nancy” and “Cryin’ Chuck,” Trump expressed his frustration with Democrat’s “witch hunt,” calling for a trial in the Senate, and saying Pelosi has “a bad case.”
Adding that she has no right to hold up the process, the president also suggested that Pelosi “is about to lose” the majority in the House for a second time.
He tweeted: “Nancy Pelosi, who has already lost the House & Speakership once, & is about to lose it again, is doing everything she can to delay the zero Republican vote Articles of Impeachment. She is trying to take over the Senate, & Cryin’ Chuck is trying to take over the trial. No way!….
“What right does Crazy Nancy have to hold up this Senate trial. None! She has a bad case and would rather not have a negative decision. This Witch Hunt must end NOW with a trial in the Senate, or let her default & lose. No more time should be wasted on this Impeachment Scam!”

Pelosi is holding the articles of impeachment for President Trump in the House — in a strict party-line vote last week, Democratic co-conspirators approved two articles: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Taking to Twitter earlier in the day on Monday, the speaker appeared to be taunting Trump.
“The House cannot choose our impeachment managers until we know what sort of trial the Senate will conduct,” Pelosi said in a tweet. “President Trump blocked his own witnesses and documents from the House, and from the American people, on phony complaints about the House process. What is his excuse now?”

Her strategy appears to be to dictate to the Senate how to proceed, which includes the calling of witnesses. Pelosi has said before moving forward, Democrats need to know “what sort of trial the Senate will conduct.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is looking to follow the same process employed when former President Bill Clinton was impeached in 1999, and Democrats was to make up their own rules.
Appearing Monday on Fox News, McConnell said that Pelosi is “apparently trying to tell us how to run the trial.”
McConnell reiterated a point made last week — that he’s in no hurry to hold a trial.
“You know, I’m not anxious to have this trial. So if she wants to hold all the papers, go right ahead,” he said.
The Senate leader has called Pelosi’s tactic “absurd,” and he was asked by Fox News if he has the constitutional authority to proceed to trial without the speaker handing the articles over?
“I don’t think so,” he said. “I can’t imagine what purpose is served by her holding on to the papers. So sooner or later, I’m assuming she’s going to send them over.”
Even CNN struggles to see an end game here for a “grasping” Pelosi.
“I think she’s grasping here, because there’s really — the Republicans hold all the cards in the Senate,” CNN legal contributor Paul Callan said Monday. “The Constitution says that the trial of an impeachment is solely within the discretion of the Senate.”
