Media touts lines around the block on first day NYC allows illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses

New York State motor vehicle offices were flooded on Monday, the first day illegal immigrants were eligible to apply for driver’s licenses.

With the liberal courts having cleared the way for liberal Democrats in the state to continue the process of mainstreaming those in the country illegally, the New York Times touted that on the same day the state’s so-called “Green Light Law” went into effect, lawmakers in neighboring New Jersey “approved similar legislation.”

The Hill shared a video of lines around the block at one facility in New York.

“Lines to apply for New York driver’s licenses go as far as around the block on the first day undocumented immigrants can apply for them,” the tweet read.

Not only is New York granting driver’s licenses, but Democrats in the state also went the extra mile to make things easier for illegal immigrants by not requiring valid Social Security numbers and essentially removing any bars when it comes to ID authentication.

As noted by the Times, the Green Light Law expanded the forms of identification that could be used, including a foreign birth certificate, a valid foreign driver’s license, and a passport or identification from a foreign country.

But don’t worry, the special treatment doesn’t mean that applicants who have no legal right to be in America don’t still have to pass both the written exam and a road test.

The paper’s readers were regaled with story after story about how great it will be for illegal immigrants, with one man being quoted saying he’ll now go to Disney World!

Never mind that in addition to mainstreaming those already here illegally, it serves as a magnet to incentivize more illegal immigration.

Democrat lawmakers and others on the left celebrated the occasion.

The vast number of applicants may be a tip of the hat that liberal media reports that there are approximately 11 million illegal immigrants in America are but a myth.

The same figure has been tossed around for well over a decade.

Ken Cuccinelli, acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, recently stated that the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. was nearly double what has been reported for years.

While speaking at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast in October, Cuccinelli cited a study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which puts the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. at 22.1 million.

“That’s the one I know. I just use it as a reference point. Because from an operational standpoint, it doesn’t matter too much,” he told the Washington Examiner. “We deal with what’s in front of us”
