Video of voters doing a ‘Bloomberg dance’ has Twitter creeped-out and confused

Do Bloomberg supporters even exist?

After a video emerged on social media of 2020 Democrat presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s alleged supporters dancing to Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” via the most awkward, corny routine ever, this very question began to drip from the public’s mouth.

Well, this question and also whether all this is real life or just a simulation.

After watching the clip below, you begin to suspect it’s the latter:

It’s been confirmed that the above video that took Twitter by storm is indeed a parody, and was part of a comedy bit. 

“A viral video of a group of people doing a choreographed dance to the tune of Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ while holding ‘Mike Bloomberg 2020’ signs was not filmed at a campaign event. Rather, it’s part of a comedy bit,” BuzzFeed confirmed.

“The video, which was shared on Twitter early Friday by Nick Ciarelli, who claimed to be a campaign intern, is a spoof of the ‘High Hopes’ dance performed by Pete Buttigieg supporters, which has become a meme.”

The footage above was reportedly recorded at a rally for Bloomberg in Beverly Hills, a community brimming with wealthy Americans who earn $193,000 per year on average. They’re people with money, and apparently people with money can’t dance.

Of course, all this is premised on the assumption that those really were Bloomberg supporters. Some social media users were so taken aback by their stunningly awkward dance that they professed to doubting the very existence of Bloomberg supporters altogether.

Others theorized that perhaps just the video was fake:

While those theories are a bit out there, almost anything’s possible in this already exceedingly wacky Democrat primary, right?

Not exactly. MRCTV has claimed that the video was initially shared to social media “by a communication intern for Mike Bloomberg’s campaign.”

So yes, it’s official: Bloomberg supporters are real, this is real life and for some reason wealthy Bloomberg supporters ain’t got nothing on Sean Spicer.

Just to be clear, the 2020 contender’s organizers are indeed being paid $6,000/month.

“Michael Bloomberg is not only flooding airwaves with record-setting ad buys, but he is paying low-level field staff nearly twice the going rate of top-tier presidential campaigns,” the Washington Examiner notes.

“A state field organizer job posting on Bloomberg’s website says that it pays $6,000 per month, the equivalent of a $72,000 annual salary, plus healthcare, vision, and dental benefits.”

However, a “low-level field staff” member is not the same thing as a supporter, meaning the likelihood that any of the people seen in the dancing video were paid by Bloomberg’s campaign is extraordinarily low.

Also, it’s true that fellow 2020 contender Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s supporters have their own arguably equally horrific dance routines.

Just to confirm again, this indeed is real life, ?.

Though again, for some reason rumors that the Bloomberg dance video is somehow fake have continued to persist on social media, with even blue checkmark recipients touting it.

Look:

It’s unclear of what evidence they have to back this theory.

As of roughly 10:00 Friday morning, all that was known for certain was that the people seen in the video couldn’t dance. And oh, this is real life. And ain’t real life grand!?
