For all the cries on the left about the “dictator-like attack by President Donald Trump on everything this country stands for,” as liberal actor Robert Redford recently stated, 2020 Democratic candidates clamoring for votes offer more reasons to be concerned.
With promises flying galore among the party’s presidential hopefuls in the quest to appease the hard-left base, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is telling voters that she will do away with the Electoral College in favor of direct democracy.
“My goal is to get elected — but I plan to be the last American president to be elected by the Electoral College. I want my second term to be elected by direct vote,” Warren tweeted, along with a video.

In the clip, Warren takes a simplistic approach to the Electoral College that flies well with their low information base, who don’t have much of a clue about why the body of electors was established by the U.S. Constitution.
She doesn’t bother to educate them that it resulted from a compromise between large and small states in 1787, giving smaller states more say in electing the president.
Warren also doesn’t seem to grasp that it would take a constitutional amendment to alter the Electoral College, which must be proposed by a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress and ratified by three-fourths of the States.
Either way, woke Democrats now claim the system in place is corrupt and unfair.

Of course, if Warren’s goal is to really do away with the Electoral College, she may be better served to stay where she is:

As pointed out by Erielle Davidson, a staff writer at The Federalist, if Democrats have their way, presidential candidates could campaign “almost exclusively” in New York, California, Texas, and Florida.
