Iranians around the globe show solidarity for citizens suffering under homeland’s brutal regime

Iranians around the globe gathered for demonstrations meant to show support for their compatriots suffering in Iran.

The Sunday demonstrations were held in places like Los Angeles, where thousands were said to have shown up.

Some protestors even demonstrated outside the White House, calling on President Donald Trump to be harder on Iran’s current regime.

Many protestors flew the Iran national flag to show solidarity. Some even sang “Ey Iran,” Iran’s original national anthem.

In Toronto, Canada, Iranian protestors called on Justin Trudeau to declare the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps a terrorist group.

Other demonstrations took place in cities like London, Berlin and New Zealand.

The editors of the Free Iran Herald criticized former President Barack Obama for not more strongly condemning the Tehran’s regime.

“However, in the growing chorus of international voices condemning Tehran’s regime, which includes many of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, one man has notably remained silent: Barack Obama. The man who saved the Khomeinist regime twice,” they wrote in a letter published at The Gateway Pundit.

President Donald Trump has arguably been much harder on Iran than Obama, though Dems are still unhappy with him. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Trump’s threats against the country and said his hard negotiating style would bring the United States to the “brink of war.”

The Iranian government has been accused of human rights violations and many politicians have fought for more freedom in the country. Republicans Sens. Ted Cruz, John Barrasso, John Cornyn, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, Marsha Blackburn, and Tom Cotton all wrote a letter to President Trump asking him to help the Iranian people gain access to the internet. That open letter was released on November 22.

Thousands in Iran recently took to the streets to protest the government, after an internet blackout and a major spike in gas prices.

“Iran has become so unstable that the regime has shut down their entire Internet System so that the Great Iranian people cannot talk about the tremendous violence taking place within the country,” President Trump tweeted about the protests. “They want ZERO transparency, thinking the world will not find out the death and tragedy that the Iranian Regime is causing!”
