With Black Friday and the launch of the 2019 Christmas shopping frenzy just days away, the American Family Association has come up with a list to identity retailers who are “Christmas-friendly.”
The “Naughty or Nice” list will help identify stores that embrace Christmas and the ones that choose not to, even as secular progressives keep insisting that there is no “war on Christmas.”
The AFA is a God-centered, pro-family conservative organization and they rated retailers on how they market Christmas shoppers.
There are three potential categories: “Nice; Marginal; and Naughty.” The criteria used is detailed on the organization’s website:
AFA reviews up to five areas to determine if a company is “Christmas-friendly” in their advertising: print media (newspaper inserts), broadcast media (radio/television), website, social media (Facebook, Twitter) and/or personal visits to the store. If a company’s ad has references to items associated with Christmas (trees, wreaths, lights, etc.), it was considered as an attempt to reach “Christmas” shoppers.
If a company has items associated with Christmas, but did not use the word “Christmas,” then the company is considered as censoring “Christmas.”
The Naughty list features some expected retailers, like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble and Gap.
Others on the list include Staples and Office Depot — who knew office supply chains were such Grinchs? According to the AFA, as a company, the retailers don’t recognize Christmas.
Family Dollar is also on the list.

As for the Amazon addicts, you get somewhat of a reprieve, as the retail giant is found on the “Marginal” list, along with Best Buy.
Others on the “Marginal” list include Starbucks, Sears, CVS Pharmacy and Dollar General. Safeway and Whole Foods are also found here.
The “Nice” list includes Walmart, Toys R Us, K-Mart, Big Lots and JC Penny, among others.
Home Improvement behemoths Hope Depot and Lowes are on the “Nice” list too, so dad can still hope to get that power drill for Christmas.
In 2017, while speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., President Trump declared an end to the so-called “War on Christmas.”
“We’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct,” he said.
“You go to department stores and they’ll say ‘Happy New Year,’ or they’ll say other things and it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted. But they don’t say — well guess what? We’re saying Merry Christmas again,” Trump declared, to strong applause.
For those looking to suppress any reference to”Christmas,” Scott Walker, the former governor of Wisconsin, is willing to offer a not so politically correct reminder to most Democrats in his state who opt to call a Christmas tree a “holiday tree.”
“This is a Christmas Tree that is used by people celebrating Christmas ? This is not a holiday tree,” he tweeted earlier this month.

Only five Democratic state lawmakers joined with Republicans in a recent vote to officially recognize a Christmas tree as a Christmas tree.
