Not only has rapper Kanye West opened his eyes when it comes to politics and the Democratic Party plantation, he has also found religion.
“I know God’s been calling me for a long time and the devil has been distracting me for a long time,” West said during a live interview with televangelist Joel Osteen.
The rapper was a guest at Osteen’s 17,000-seat Lakewood Church in Houston on Sunday and the two discussed West’s journey to faith, as reflected on his new album, “Jesus Is King,” and his “Sunday Service Experience” concerts, Yahoo Entertainment reported — West has been doing these religious shows since January.
“When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me,” the recording artist explained. “I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there’s documentations of me drawing a church and writing about starting a church in the middle of Calabasas.”
“Even after that I made the ‘Life of Pablo’ album and said this is a gospel album,” West continued. “I didn’t know how to totally make a gospel album and the Christians that were around were too beaten into submission by society to not speak up and profess the gospel to me because I was a superstar. But the only superstar is Jesus.”

You can say what you want about Joel Osteen and Kanye West.. But you need to hear what he had to say this morning at Lakewood Church! Kanye West speaks at Lakewood Church!

“All of that arrogance, and confidence and cockiness that y’all seen me use before God is now [being used] for Him,” he explained. “Because every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God and no weapons armed against me shall prosper.’”
Osteen, worth an estimated $50 million and living in a $10.5 million, 17,000 square-foot mansion, asked West about worshiping fame and money.
The rapper spoke about the mentality some have when they’re in service to fame and money, believing that Satan is all powerful.
“You start to feel like if you service God, that in life, in means you will not prosper,” he said.
“It’s like the devil stole all the good producers, the devil stole all the good musicians, all the good artists, all the good designers, all the good business people and said, ‘You gotta come over and work for me,'” he said. “And now the trend, the shift, is going to change. Jesus has won the victory.”
After remarking on his own cockiness, with a laugh, West said of himself, “Now the greatest artist God ever created is now working for him.”
West spoke of his religious background growing up, saying his father would take him to church three times a week, and that his mother always took him on Sundays.
“As I now have a family, I’m 42 years old and married for five years, there’s a blatant responsibility for me to become more like my mother, who has gone to heaven and more like my father, who is working in building a water purification center in the Dominican Republic,” he said.
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West, was in attendance, sitting in the front row with the couple’s daughter, North — the mega-celebrity was baptized last month in a historic church in her family’s homeland of Armenia.

Thank you Armenia for such a memorable trip. So blessed to have been baptized along with my babies at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Armenia’s main cathedral which is sometimes referred to as the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This church was built in 303 AD.? @jackie_nickerson
While in Houston, West made surprise appearances at two Harris County jails, along with a choir.
The rapper performed musical selections and offered motivational words to inmates.
