Former game show host Chuck Woolery said openly supporting President Trump has destroyed his career — which speaks volumes about the state of America today.
In an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Woolery, 78, spoke about a recent tweet on the consequences in Hollywood for being an open conservative and Trump supporter.
In the tweet, Woolery was unapologetic for his political beliefs.
“To answer your question. Yes I have pretty much destroyed my career by openly supporting Trump and letting all know, I am a conservative. Painful at times, but true. After all is said and done. It was my choice and I can live with it. I would do it all again,” he tweeted.

Woolery explained to Fox News co-host Brian Kilmeade that his career had phased into commercial work and several companies he represents were “bombarded” with complaints.
“These people sit in their basements and make it look like there are thousands of people complaining,” he said, adding that they call him “racist” and “fascist” while posting their complaints.
He proceeded to nail just how hate-filled the progressive left is today in America.
“These ad agencies are inundated and the companies who you represent are just inundated with all this negative — it is not true, they make this stuff up and throw it up because they want to destroy your life,” Woolery insisted. “They don’t want to disagree with you. They’re so vehement, virulent, they just want to destroy you. That is their purpose.”
Interestingly, in talking about his “self-deprecating” tweet, Woolery said: “I know I’m shadow-banned.”
“I have got about 650 or 700,000 followers. I know the half of them don’t get what I say” he charged, this being in response to the bias seen on Twitter.
With a hearty laugh, Woolery said of the tweet, “So I sent this thing out as kind of a test, it made me look I was losing in life. It just went — biggest tweet I ever had in my life.”
When Kilmeade asked if the response was positive or negative, he replied, “As long as you’re a loser they love you. But I’m not a loser.”
They go on to discuss a tweet from a Berkeley grad student attacking rural America, saying that people who aren’t “pro-city” should be shamed.
Woolery sarcastically noted that we’re now “depending on grad students to make our decisions in life,” before pointing out that he grew up in rural America.
“I’m tired of these people who are saying the truth is not really the truth, it’s what you perceive it to be,” he said. “They sit in their ivory towers and they make these decisions from arrogance and make us feel small. Everything they do drips of arrogance towards the common person and I’m a common person. I always felt that way. I always felt like Hollywood was a tuxedo and I was a brown pair of shoes. I didn’t really fit in because I was kind of a common guy.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to Woolery’s tweet from Twitter:
On the Contrary my friend.
U have stayed TRUE 2 yourself & U are to be admired for that.
In this World – You cant be All things to All People, so stay true to who you are, and have faith that GOD has a plan for those who live by his word.
I tip my hat 2 U for your courage.

When I was at UCLA, I worked in shop in Manhattan Beach. You bought 2 answering machines from me, picked up the phone and got me on your show,
The Love Connection. I wasn’t old enough at 20, but you got me on. Never thought we would be on same team for Trump,

Same. But I’ve never felt better, freer or more filled with purpose.

True courage. Not like the rest that repeat what the other says and gets applauded for it. They’re all a bunch of mimicking robots in Hollywood and there are so few with true integrity. You are one of the few. @ksorbs @ScottBaio

Thank you Chuck we appreciate you for it.
Who would have thought that liberals would have become the Fascist states of America, where you arent free to support the political candidate of your choosing, and are persecuted, physically attacked & maligned for it.— Natasha Fatale Mortal enemy of Moose & Squirrel (@AKAHortense) November 10, 2019
Pretty ridiculous that this is the way liberals treat people. They must have a checklist of groups of people they have to hate.
